Looks like a modernized astromech. Obviously an rotj reference.

This is a redressing of a droid on Yavin in Andor s2. I don’t think we’ve seen this particular variant of it though, so maybe?

Well, it''s often we have reusing props, like this dinner from Next Generation use in Star Trek Undiscover Country.

I don’t think this is anything. He had posted the same image like a day ago saying something like “Starfighter when?”

Ugly—I’d forgotten that not only starfighters but also droids can be "Uglies," like Buckett from *Resistance* (for the uninitiated, that’s a term referring to starfighters built from parts of various other starfighters).

Honestly hope not. This would be such a step back from the more modern BB designs if this is suddenly the successor droid.

It isn’t a successor, it’s in Andor

Ah never noticed him in it but that makes much more sense!

There used to be a trend for the smallest phones; now, it’s for the largest ones. Models in the A-1-9 can accommodate more features than BB-type models.

BB units are simply a different type of astromech. Think of it like a new car series released by a car company. A Honda Civic to the Accord.

BB units serve different roles from R series droids iirc.

Oh hey, it’s that Astromech from the background of Andor Season 2. The team called it an R10
