Question How can I stop google chrome from creating duplicate files of my download?
Hello,
whenever I download something using google chrome on steam deck, it creates duplicate files in the same size!
I need to go to:
"var-app-google chrome-config-google chrome-default-file system" and delete them myself.
is there's a away to stop this?

That happens because Mega decrypts files inside the browser first by saving the whole file into Chrome's internal HTML5 File System cache (that Default/File System folder) before handing the finished file over to your Downloads folder. If you close the Mega tab right as the download finishes, Chrome never clears the temporary copy, so either leave the Mega tab open for 10–15 seconds after the file saves or grab the native MEGAsync desktop app from the Discover store, which decrypts straight to your target folder without making a second copy inside Chrome.

The app isn't available sadly. but thank you for the explanation.

Ah my bad, Mega still only ships native Linux packages rather than a Flatpak in Discover! JDownloader is in the Discover store though and handles Mega links directly without using Chrome's browser cache, or just leaving the Chrome tab open for 15 seconds after the save prompt finishes will let it clean up the temporary copy on its own.
