No Spoilers Oathbringer reading
I read first books in like a week, now when i started the oathbringer i stopped enjoying reading it and i barely made it to 200th page. Idk how to find the will to keep reading, i would just hate leaving it unfinished because i adore the created world. I guess i just don’t like the execution in this book?
Edit: thank you all for the comments, i feel better knowing there are others alike. I will push through!

I just finished Oathbringer last night. Trust me, finish it. Also, you might be experiencing burnout if this isn’t your normal reading pace. The books are massive and the fact you read two in a week is insane. I’ve been reading a Stormlight book and then take a break by reading a different book altogether to avoid burnout then get back to the series. It’s been working really well.

Oathbringer is definitely a bit slower to start, especially after the exciting conclusion of Words of Radiance, so it might just be tonal whiplash. Or it might be you just need a break from Stormlight. Setting it aside for a bit doesn't mean you can't ever return to it

I agree, there’s no shame in setting it aside.
I tore through WoK and WoR in 2024, OB and RoW in 2025 and just finished WaT last month.
Captured in Words on YouTube has some phenomenal recaps of the books to get you back into the Roshar without needing to reread everything. I listened to those for OB and RoW before stating WaT, but after my first gap I read through the chapter by chapter summary for WoK and WoR.
Both methods worked fine, and Brandon does a good job at revisiting important stuff.

i felt exactly like this around the 200pg mark too. what i did was take a break and read other things. knocked a few books off my TBR, caught up with a load of manga volumes, etc. few months later i got the sanderson itch and picked the book back up. now im reading pg 1000+, still havent finished.
people are right about it getting better. that being said ill likely read the dawnshard novella and then take a break again before reading rhythm of war.
there is no rush, read at your own pace and dont deny yourself other books and hobbies while reading it or you'll just resent it and put it down forever.

Maybe you are burned out. Take a break. Read other stuff, maybe other genre, shorter, come back rested.

As much as I adore the Dalinar backstory, I often felt interrupted by it, a bit like interludes do for a lot of people. It’s worth it tho, his story is awesome and this is probably the best sanderlanch I’ve read (I’m mid RoW).

If you havnt finished yet, just keep going. His story has a fantastic ending and it pairs into the sanderlanch for this book. I legit cried

I’m having this issue with the Stormlight Archives now. I just finished Oathbringer. I definitely love the world and Universe that Brandon has made, but the pacing is a problem for me a bit.
I would recommend taking some time for other things in between. I went from book 1 to book 3 with edgedancer and warbreaker in there, and definitely thinking I need a break from the Cosmere and BS for a while.

I think Oathbringer is like that for everyone, it's very slow for a while but it's definitely worth it in the end, imo there's an argument to be made that it's the best in the series so far

I had to push through the first half of Oathbringer. It was enjoyable, but didn’t pull me in like the others did. It picked up quite a bit mid-way and has a great ending. I haven’t had that experience with any of the other books, so I’d say it’s definitely worth it to keep going.

Oathbringer drags in the middle a bit. That’s the only point like that in the series imo.

Oathbringer is slower, but it's my favourite book of the series, believe me it's a masterpiece and by the end you will love it. Push through, trust me.
