I Found a Cat (Location) Uhh advice? Youngstown, USA

Post image

i woke up this morning to hearing meowing outside, we have a few local strays so i didn’t think much but then it kept going. i opened my front door to an unfamiliar face curled on my welcome mat soaked in rain. it just kept meowing, i mean like practically yelling “girl let me tf in don’t you see this rain???” it came right in and curled into my arms. made a local post but nothing. has not left my lap and wants nothing but to give kisses and love. no collar or anything but we did find a tick that we removed. so what do i do with it, i knew that the cat distribution system existed but i did not know they participated in door delivery LMAO. i assume i take it to the vet first before we get too comfy but i have no idea how to go about this sweet baby. any advice welcome.

Take him to a vet, so that he can be scanned for a microchip. Then post him as "found" on https://www.pawboost.com/ and https://www.lostmykitty.com/ . Nextdoor too, if you have that.

If nobody claims him, then....you gained a new friend for life!

Just a friendly suggestion if anyone should try to claim him please ensure you get indisputable verifiable proof including Vet records and pictures they took of the Cat (any pet owner will have 100’s if they love their pet) and ask them to identify a distinguishing characteristics that you don’t put in any picture to be 1000% certain they are being honest (paw pad color or unique marking etc). Or a unique personality trait about him.

Hoping you’re able to keep him though he looks very comfortable and right at home and I’m sure you will be best friends fast

You are now the proud owner of a beautiful kitty! Bring her to your local vet so that she can be checked out and make sure she’s not chipped. How blessed you are!💜

They chose you, take them to the vet, test them for the things the vet recommends especially FIV, and feline leukemia, and then try to give her the best life possible. They might be a cat that just comes and goes as they please, depending on if they have any diseases. If you can give her a home, if not at least TNR her, or find a local rescue that can take her and maybe even the other strays.
