Laptop Request -Others LAPTOP ADVICE COMPUTER ENGINEERING

I live in Italy. I’m a first-year computer engineering student and I’ve just bought an HP OMNIBOOK OLED Ultra 14-inch laptop for 1,500 euros, with 32GB RAM, a 1TB SSD and an Intel Ultra 7 356H processor. However, I’m very torn about whether to return it, partly because I’m not sure if the 14-inch screen might become a nuisance in the future, and partly because I’m worried that a laptop without a dedicated graphics card might limit me in the future with whatever I end up doing – though I don’t yet know what that will be.
Would you recommend something else in my situation – one with a graphics card or not? If so, do you have anything else with 32GB RAM and a 1TB SSD that fits within a budget of 1,500 euros?

keep it. I had the same 'what if I need a GPU' panic when I specced my uni machine — bought the bigger laptop with the dGPU and that GPU sat there as a paperweight for four years while quietly murdering the battery. CE coursework (vivado, matlab, spice, coding) is all CPU + RAM bound, and your 32GB is worth more than any entry dGPU. if you hit ML or rendering later, that's what uni clusters / colab are for.

on the 14": 16:10 at 14" is fine for code — the real fix is a cheap 27" on your desk, I'd spend the return-restocking money on that instead. only OLED caution: dark mode + auto-hide taskbar, static IDE chrome all day is the one burn-in case worth caring about

I see, thank you very much. At home, I already have a 27-inch LG 2K IPS monitor and a desktop PC. I needed a laptop to use in lectures and, as I’m a commuter, when I was at the university library.

dGPU and proper cpu range for 1500 is not available these days. Increase the budget.
