Video of a high level swimmer doing high number of pull ups or weighted pull ups?
Usually, video of men doing high number of pull ups or weighted pull ups are light men with short arms.
High level swimmers would be long arms and more heavy so pull ups would be harder for them.
And I heard pull ups aptitude are linked to swimming speed.
So I would like to see that, that would be rather impressive.
If anyone has a video like that, thank you!

Not your question but here is recent research: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11344870/
In Summary, explosive pull up reps done with "good form" improve sprinting. Volume pull ups do not.

I think if you can swim fast, you can train to do pull-ups. Being able to do pull-ups first doesn't transfer to being able to swim second.

It goes both ways. Becoming stronger/more powerful doing pull-ups will increase lat & bicep strength and power in the water (which is useful as long as you have the technique to properly use the muscle).
At some point, the amount of force you can pull with in the water is less than what you can reach with a (weighted) pull up, so the additional stimulus outside of the water helps push your strength/power higher than you could get from swimming alone. Same goes for training squats/olympic movements instead of purely doing starts & pushoffs to get better at those motions.

But that's what I mean: as long as you have the technique.
A beginner who's good at pull-ups is not going to swim fast because he doesn't have the right swimming technique.2

pullups don't improve your skill of swimming but they make you stronger which lets you translate a given skill level into faster swimming.
and in general being good at more movements makes it easier to learn more movements

The only time I've ever been able to do a pullup was when I was 16 and had been swimming competitively for a couple of years.

Cam mcevoy shares a lot on his instagram. There is a youtuber called 'the swimsuit guy' and he has published a few videos showing how cam mcevoy trains in the gym. Most of them are heavy weight pull ups with 3-5 reps.

McEvoy and Peaty def have videos, but I'm pretty sure the majority of swimmers do pull-ups weighted or not

I’m a former 6’7” elite rower that has turned to swimming as I have gotten older, the physiology of power endurance for both are quite similar. when I was training for rowing, I was about 210lbs and doing three sets of 20 pull-ups (60 total with full extension) was a normal part of my workouts.

Have a look at Cameron McEvoy's Instagram posts. Last I saw it, he was doing 80 kg weighted pull-ups.
