Nose
I swim 5 days a week and recently (past year) my nose has been an issue. I wake up with what feels like little cuts in my nose / scabs. Whenever I yawn or stretch my nostrils it's very painful and after swims my nose can become quite sensitive. Has anyone ever experienced this?

Try putting a light coat of vaseline or aquaphor in your nostrils before swimming. It'll help heal it and, at the same time, prevent it from happening again.

A nurse said never to put vaseline in your nose bc it ends up in your lungs. It's a petroleum product. The dr she works with recommended a nasal saline gel called Ayr that you will probs have to keep applying during your swim

Good to know! I'm 70 and have been putting vaseline in my nostrils for about 60 of those years, oops.

Go to the pharmacy and ask about an intranasal moisturizing gel. They’re specifically for this situation.

Get a tube of Laroche Posey cicaplast b5. It’s the only thing that quells my skin after the pool and jacuzzi chemical irritation. Make sure you wash your face immediately after you swim. If you’re using sunscreen, make sure you use an oil base cleanser to get off all of the sunscreen.

I get these occasionally, and mine clear up faster with an antibiotic ointment than with vaseline or aquaphor.

Do you get them prescribed or just in chemist?

I use the generic/unbranded one from the chemist, but I just learned that treatment recommendations are different in the UK ( https://www.boltpharmacy.co.uk/guide/bacitracin-zinc-antibiotic-ointment ) so it sounds like you'll need to talk to your chemist and/or healthcare provider. Also, if it wouldn't be a bother, I'd appreciate learning what they recommend.

You suspect that swimming is hurting your nose. Swim with a mask rather than goggles to keep pool water out of your nose.

Dry skin, moisturize
Clean with a soap that neutralizes chlorine and then moisturize
