What are your thoughts on the idea that the left is too polarized?
Historically, the government of the US was effective and both parties cooperated easily because they both supported racial and gender hierarchies, and they were effective at shutting down and violently repressing movements that called for an expansion of civil rights and liberties. The internet likely increased the cost of violence in terms of public perception and visibility of injustice, but now people argue that Left-wing activists are too extreme in opposing racial, economic, and social injustices.
Personally I find it ludicrous and it seems to reflect a preference for the speaker's individual comfort at the expense of others. Most academics and experts tend to say the exact same things as Left-wing activists, with the only difference being that it registers as academic and respectable because of their backgrounds and credentials. What do you guys think?

A technate operating at optimal parameters would have an economic model vastly closer to China than to our current predatory inefficiency-riddled system.

This. People who are deliberately fifth columnist shouldn’t even be considered leftist imo.

any sides of the political spectrum have its own internal divisions and splits
Maoist accuses MLs of "Revisionism" for example, and yet they always agree that social democrats are naive and problematic
Left Unity is not something that is worth pushing for most of the time
I'll say that the so-called "too extremes" are simply the noisy minority who just happens to catch media attention, the vast majority of the left are nowhere near that "too extreme"
and it also depends on the definition of "too extreme", too extreme...what? economical like MLs, Maoist? socially then its might not be even the "left", the Liberals ruined the left's reputation
so no, the left isn't "too extreme" or "too polarized", Technocracy is also Leftist, and it is closer to the MLs than you might think, which is not a bad thing

It's just projection from the political right.
The political right literally tried to overthrow the federal government because they didn't like the result of a democratic vote. They have no right calling anyone "polarized".
Are there major issues with certain portions of the left? Yes. The whole "tax the rich and wealthy!" shit is just holding us back from actually getting the services, infrastructure, and programs demanded; it is just cementing the general public's belief that it is possible to fund trillions in extra spending and not raise taxes on themselves drastically. Just as an example.
Another example is the anti-abundance left that can't conceive of the possibility that maybe a regulation is BAD, and ought to be drastically reformed or outright removed. They're in the way of helping us resolve our housing crisis, and making the delivery of public infrastructure and services not be so horrendously inefficient and costly.
