HELP! Stuck shed

So Karl's last shed b4 brumation his tail did not come off with the rest of his body. His hide is 80-90% humidity. I took him to the vet because hes starting brumation their opinion. It doesnt seem like its cutting off circulation but its hard to tell. They recommended taking him out and soaking him for 20 min a day and delaying brumation. Has anyone else seen this? Hes done eating so hes not going to grow and shed but it just will not detach from the skin underneath.

I've also struggled with the tail - no amount of humidity seems to help.

Ember hates soaks so I rub coconut oil on it once a week and if I have the opportunity I wrap the tail gently in damp towels if he's sleeping and he's in a position to.

I doubt one stuck shed would ever cause anything serious, it's just going to happen, it's multiple layers of it where it can become an issue. But every time he's had stuck shed on the tail no matter what I do it just comes off as part of the next. I think sometimes the tail just misses the bus

Leave it ! Itll come off eventually, their tails seem to always finish shedding last , he just may not be done shedding . Tegus dont shed in one piece like snakes do, they shed over days & may even take up to 3 weeks !

Entirely Normal shedding for them in my experience.
