Meme "Anger is more useful than despair"

He's pragmatic by design. He knew that if he surgarcoated it, she'd hold on to the belief that he could still be alive and the T-X would attempt to exploit that.

The T-850 being aware that it would leave room to give her hope still showcases his understanding of psychology perfectly imo.

Just my two cents though.

Yeah, but it‘s still funny of him being like:
“Oh, I understand humans, I’ll be nice.” To the “Man, FUCK feelings, your man’s fucking dead.”

I saw a fan theory once that future Kate specifically instructed T-850 to be as big an asshole to her and John as possible in the past. This being because he was able to successfully kill John in the future because John briefly hesitated as he associated the 101 model with his childhood friend and protector, but if this new 101 model protector is a complete prick, he'd have no problem blowing him away in the new future.

It's pretty funny but also makes sense.

Honestly, that’s a very good point. If I were Kate, I’d do anything including that to ensure my husband doesn’t get killed in a different time, even thought mine in this time is dead.

Lol, I wonder if John in future design T850 to resembles with Tim Cookey, his mullet buddy.

That's a surprisingly good point for the narrative T3 sets up.

But I still think it's unbelievably stupid that John, having literally watched him melt, could delude himself into thinking he's back.

To be fair he was probably considering the possibility that they might be connected via some sort of software hivemind. Like everything a Terminator sees is being recorded and the footage is sent to other units before they're released if that makes sense.

I was only half serious, interesting thought though

I like the part where the T-850 uses reverse psychology to trick John out of his mopey, pitiful "I'm no leader, I'm not the one" attitude.

Empathy is part of advanced psychology

To be fair, you aren’t supposed to drag it out and you are supposed to say ”dead” so there’s zero confusion.
