Rewatching the first Terminator, and one thing that always cracks me up is how slowly he moves.

During the police station shootout, he's just casually strolling around like he's got all the time in the world. There's absolutely no sense of urgency.

The only time I remember him actually running is when he chased Sarah and Kyle out of Tech Noir.

He's literally a killing machine programmed to complete a mission, so why does he spend 90% of the movie walking around like he's out for an evening stroll?

Is there an actual explanation for this, or is it purely to make him look more intimidating?

But hopeful too. How do you feel about it?

Some people don't like the game T Resistance and compare it to Genesis cause it shows that Skynet has central core and not a few centers and works like Bitcoin.

I dunno. It fixes the problem of where does Skynet gets resources. They have limited resources so maybe central core is only thing Skynet can have cause making a lot of backup servers may be not resource effective.

Are you ready for the deepest of deep dives? That's what @CREATORVCLIVE is known for and what they intend to do for Cameron's T1 and T2!
Today I'm joined by friend of the podcast, author, and writer/director lan Nathan. He is the author of TERMINATOR VAULT and JAMES CAMERON: A RETROSPECTIVE as well as the director of ALIENS EXPANDED and the upcoming TERMINATOR EXPANDED, which is the focus of this episode.

I've seen the first two back a long while ago which were great in my opinion, but I was deterred from checking out the new ones as they came out after seeing backlash here and there, and out of all of the movies, people say that the first two were the best, and the rest was okay. I'd like to watch past the first two, but at the same time I feel like I should leave it at the second movie because of how it left off, how they stopped the future war and all that, the first two were favorites in my family back in the years they came out.

Hi guys,

Recently released a podcast where I make the argument that The Terminator is a (great) horror film, and I'd love to hear any opinions on the matter.

This week we are dissecting James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd's fantastic TERMINATOR screenplay and comparing it to the iconic film...

Thank y'all for taking the time to read this :)

Someone call The Weather Girls cause it's raining men! Hallelujah! Jokes aside, this movie is 95% gunshots. I know violence in an action movie is about as shocking as seeing Mary with a little lamb. But I'm low-key surprised how much was squeezed in. As for the characters. I first saw Schwarzenegger in 1970s Hercules in New York and seeing him again in one of his most popular works was a treat. My favorite version of Terminator was when the robot skeleton was exposed. The way it's animated along the footage of actual people honestly reminded of the scene in Ghostbusters where Tully is being chased by the demon dogs. It's campy and I love it. My favorite characters have to be the titular bitchulars Sarah and Kyle. I liked their moments of chemistry in between all the chaos. Especially the scene in the tunnel. The sex scene though! Kyle literally said that the Terminator doesn't bargain, doesn't listen to reason, it will not stop until Sarah is dead. So what makes you think he's going to see you two screwing and be like"Oh! My bad!" Dumbass! Overall this was a pretty good watch!

I never understood why the people complains about the throwing thing of the t800 on John, let's remember it's a movement that was since to (t800 vs Matt) and let's remember this t800 it's a prototype, (t resistance infiltrator prototype) it was an early war era, this prototype wasn't meant to get activated yet Skynet had to because John went deeper into it's fabric. Since this t-rip was a prototype and didn't had any previous experience it did something like throw and that, also yes Marcus and Kyle and John was too much, but it wasn't a bad concept at all, the ending he's it was rushed and was weird, but it also shows the t-rip learned fast. A reminder this was supposed to be the beginning of the trilogy

The machines in Terminator are powerful, they advance with every new film. But somehow they think they're bulletproof or don't know how to dodge bullets or even take cover.

Terminator is more of a horror film than sci-fi so I get why the machines don't defend themselves so much against bullets. It's makes for some of the most horrific and jaw-dropping scenes.

But once you realise this unnecessary flaw in their programming you can't unsee it. And it's kinda off. Imagine what a Terminator movie with bullet docking machines will be like—we saw a little glimpse in Termniator Genisys. That'll be insane.

And so it begins… Skynet’s first act of aggression: the “T” forcing a customer out of the toothpaste aisle….leading to the T800 in just a few years…😂 I was just disappointed it couldn’t talk or help me find marshmallows

On a rewatch, these two scenes are less than 5 minutes apart lol
