The tiniest amount of backstory would go a long way. Assuming someone was flying through that garage.

Old guy apparently got the gas and brake pedals mixed up in a parking garage. Luckily, my Tesla’s Sentry Mode caught the whole thing.

The footage shows him backing into a knee wall multiple times. Then somehow, instead of stopping, he hit the gas and went around the corner of the garage, wrecking my car and two other parked cars in the process.

TL;DR: Older driver confused the gas and brake, repeatedly backed into a wall, then hit the gas and crashed into my car and two others. Sentry Mode caught everything.

Ahh the classic old person “got the pedals mixed up” defense. I swear everytime a parked car gets taken out or a Buick ends up in someone’s living room, that’s the defense. It’s time to enforce driving testing as we age, not just when we first get our license!

Unfortunately, FSD isn’t a replacement for bad driving. If you’re a bad driver, you shouldn’t be operating a vehicle, period, until fully autonomous vehicles are truly a thing. I have older family members with two FSD Teslas and they talk about how much they “love to get in the car, hit “go” and not think about anything.” I’ve ridden with them in their pre FSD days and they were awful drivers then. FSD didn’t fix that.

Damn! Thanks for sharing. Almost looks like he went out of his way to hit you.... but i can definitely see old person getting confused..."i pressed brake but it didn't stop...let me press it harder!!" ...but it's the accelerator.

I was on a ride today. 80+ year old driving an Escalade swerved and nearly hit me. Kept driving.

If there’s a minimum age to drive there should be a maximum.

After the age of 60 everyone should require enhanced testing and 1 or 2 strikes before their license is taken. Something. Anything.

Years ago my husband was at a red light and an old man plowed right into him. Thankfully no injuries. Elderly drivers are as dangerous as distracted ones.

I a 75-year-old woman and I just purchased a 2026 Tesla model S with FSD. I love it and I don’t have to worry about being a bad driver now.!!

I don’t see anything you could have done differently. Your vehicle wasn’t even the first one hit. And I see the collision was more violent than I thought. The airbag deployed in the car, which may have injured the passenger

Cops told the old man, DMV will be taking his license. He won't be driving anymore. I'm just glad there wasn't any pedestrian that got hurt. I was actually on my way to the car to get personal stuff when I got the notification on my app. If I was a little early who knows what happened.

Sadly he wasn't on the phone, just an old guy who shouldn't be driving anymore. Cops told him he won't be driving anymore and DMV will revoke his license.

Yeah not exactly at the corner, I meant I was parked right by the corner where he made the turn. He came around it and went straight into my car
