Um ackschually

You see, it is in fact not legal to do backflips and to fly on public roads, therefore the roadster is pointless and stupid and I am very smart.

Yeah, the reactions are great. Who gives a shit of the rocket trim is not street legal. Tesla never promised it would be. If you can afford it, that's not a problem.

The point is simple, technology advances and with Musk the number of leaps forward just keep on coming. I get it, simple people that have done nothing in their lives resent seeing someone like Musk exceed all bounds over and over, as it make them feel like losers. I find it inspiring.

Meh. I’m no fan of Elon, but I’m not a hater of success.

The prototype they showed will never see the road and the “features” they showed serve pretty much zero purpose. The car makes no sense.

What does make sense is a Roadster priced below the new Porsche Boxster EV that can democratize the fun for everyone.

Elon is smart and I suspect that is what we will see. What we saw was smoke and mirrors and something that will never come to fruition.

Go to Tesla.com and vehicles. You can reserve a Roadster. Three trims. Performance, Thrust and Rocket. Rocket, is designated as off road use only. There are people who will buy them. People with more money than I am willing to put on a car. The lowest trim only requires $5000 today and $45000 in 10 days to reserve. The other trims more. Guessing, Jay Leno will buy one of the street versions.

The point is, that model was never intended for the Road. Only the performance is a road vehicle.

The Thrust is too but will likely have boost jets disable on public roads.

According to my sources, it’s for track.

Apparently our sources differ. Eventually we will know for sure.

Oh, I didn't realize they were flying on public roads. I looked to me like they were well above them. But since you are so much smarter than everybody else, I believe you.

It was an impressive showing but being able to do a barrel roll isn't really practical. Thrusts for additional speed, I get. Suction, yeah I get. Plus, based on some back of the napkin math, you maybe have 5 to 6 seconds before the tanks are depleted.

It's possible for something to be amazing and pointless at the same time.

As a Tesla owner, I want for them to be around for a long time and to continue producing amazing cars. If showing off a car that can do a barrel roll helps in that endeavor, excellent.

Every so often I see a report of someone who drove off the road and plowed into a second-story window.
If only they had had the roadster with its Automatic Collision Avoidance!

It was a publicity stunt!

Let’s see what happens, the tech in the upper level models will never be road legal. So, does it really matter if they don’t deliver? It’s not like Tesla makes perfect cars, I.e. rain sensors!!

There will be a different administration in office, the wild shit might get reigned in!
