NYE in Asheville💃🏻🪩🎉
From the email: “Spend New Year's Eve with us at ExploreAsheville.com Arena on Thursday, December 31, 2026! Special guests Mountain Grass Unit and Homeboy Sandman open the show.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, September 18 at 10am ET. Avett Guild members will be able to purchase tickets starting on Tuesday, September 15 at 12pm ET.”

No kidding. I can’t remember them ever announcing the event so late in the year for past NYE’s.

Why I was stressing haha. Also saw the Scott avett signature banjo release video where he was talking about his various bouts of skin conditions (think it was melanoma at one point)

Saw Homeboy Sandman open for them at Red Rocks last year. It was something.

I may in the minority but I enjoyed his Red Rocks set and I’m not a big fan of that genre. He exhibited a very positive message which is simply missing in most rap music these days.

Also saw Homeboy Sandman open at RR last year and didn’t feel like it went over well. Was pretty surprised to see him back on the roster. I’m guessing he was good as rappers go but I don’t have much context.

For those that have gone before, how impossible is it to get a cab / uber after the show on NYE around there? Debating potential hotel options and wonder if I should only look at things walkable

I would just do something walkable especially if staying an extra day or two. The Renaissance is the travel hotel so it may be pretty booked, especially on NYE but there is a Sheraton close by and then several more hotels along Broadway which is basically right in the middle of everything.

I have a potential free stay at the Grand Bohemian through my Marriott points, so was trying to see if I am just setting myself up for a disaster of trying to get home after the show or worth it even if I have to pay $100 for a 3 mile ride

It might be worth asking the r/asheville board. I live outside the city and am fairly new to the area so I am not sure about how prevalent Ubers will be NYE.

It was Tuesday. If you go get the password from the guild site there are still a handful of VIP tickets out there on Ticketmaster. No regular tickets through the guild site are available though.
