First of all….Wow. Ladies and gents, I’m pleased to announce to all of you that the impossible has happened: Quebec finally got their shit together and learned how to grow some goddamn top shelf flowers (hey Ontario, if you’re reading this: it’s your turn, buddy. You’re next!).
In my 15+ years of cannabis, I never thought I’d see the day that a Quebec mega-farm is putting BC micro-cultivators to absolute shame. Because I am a true BC pot-snob, I rarely buy the same strain twice. But this is my third or fourth half oz of Bubble Up! The sole reason why: it never disappoints.
The genetics are dynamite. The Zoap x Deluxe; the culmination of a super backcrossed Pink Guava science experiment mixed with the heritage of modern favourites like Red Runtz and Gary Payton.
Clocking in at 2% terps, Bubble Up packs a tasty punch that is definitely worth writing home about. It provides a very rich, flavourful aroma of sweet baked goods working in conjunction with a robust yet subtle musk of spice and cheese. The taste sticks to my palate in the best way possible.
In terms of appearance, the buds are gorgeous representation of the lost art of bag appeal: beautifully trimmed, slightly moist nugs baring big resinous trikes. The crystals are so big that I can see them without my glasses, let alone the assistance of magnification.
Indica smokers of all walks of life will appreciate this strain. When I had few tokes of a pinner doobie or a lil bowl = in my zone, chillin’, catching infinite vibes.
But when I took a king sized cone or a rapper sized blunt to the dome… non/verbal, non-functional, ready to eat my entire fridge and then ride my couch while watching the fifth season of Seinfeld.
My only criticism is that BU is not the greatest, most consistent burn. The ash isn’t black but BU definitely doesn’t burn completely white either. I wouldn’t even call the burn ‘salt and pepper’ nor grey. It’s also worth noting (especially for the bong community) that these flowers are noticeably moist. I have 2 different electric grinders that almost broke trying to grind the nugs! These flowers are definitely best preserved in a hand grinder. Having said that, depending on your perspective, these are both not exactly ‘bad’ qualities. As a matter of fact, if you’re a Kush lover like myself, you’ll appreciate the burn and moisture—they’re very reminiscent of the late 2000s/early 2010s Kush era. Everything about the experience immediately brought be back to the days of Tyson OG, Obama Kush, and grey market dispensaries. Good ol’ times #memz 🥲
