events Daylight Savings Time - Confirmation?

Just to confirm our area is still moving the clocks back in a few weeks? still doing the day light savings time.

Even if the Kenora area is not going to. Follow suit of Manitoba and other provinces will not be moving their clocks again?

Just to confirm this for now?

Just fyi, we're actually in daylight savings time right now—when the time changes a few weeks from now we'll move into standard time

Yep, Nov 1 is the fall back. If you're wondering why Ontario hasn't dropped the switch yet: the province actually passed the Time Amendment Act back in 2020 to stay on daylight time permanently, but it only kicks in if Quebec and New York State do the same, and neither has so far. So for now we're still changing clocks twice a year.

Apparently our biological clocks are better suited for standard time, and we should be staying in standard time and not daylight savings time. Lil tidbit I heard on the CBC today.

As a human who prefers to do things, Daylight time is far superior. Getting off work at 4:30 and it being practically night in January sucks. Getting daylight outside until 10pm in the summer is awesome.

It’s a subtle and likely ineffective protest. I think northwestern ontario is an awesome part of our country and is under appreciated by our southern ontario overlords. I think we need to pull away from them as much as possible.

Edit: upon further review, I will still turn my clock back an hour like the rest of you but it will be to align with CDT while those who don’t follow me will be on EST.

Swell on a positive note they did not spend it on booze or drugs. Sorry for your loss. Years ago I dropped my wallet in the parking lot at Thunder Center Canadian Tire . Late in the evening I got a call from the store saying an employee found it. All I’d and credit bank cards intact. Bought the young man a $50. 00 gift card as a reward at Subway.
