Two and graduated from Western Michigan University. I felt violated financially when a teacher‘s assistant kid taught a class. I am paying big bucks for professor and you need to deliver. That’s your job. I don’t want to be taught by some kid or peer.
You're not paying for the professor. You are paying for the class. The class is taught by the person deemed appropriate. Lower level classes are often taught by assistants because guess what? They are lower level classes not a cutting edge graduate class.
I don't disagree but the worst class I ever had was a human anatomy lab with a foreign student teacher and nobody could understand a word she said. Heavy heavy eastern European accent. Things fortunately improved when I realized that she read verbatim from the book, but then I didn't know why I even needed to show up - because we literally did 0 lab work. Looked at a pig fetus on a table once.
You’re not even paying for the class. All you pay for is a piece of paper at the end. The one that says you are qualified to do something but can’t get hired because you have no experience. Everything you learn in college can come free from the library.
Who has ever had their college transcript checked? Who is actually working in their degree field? I’m not positive anyone has ever checked that I actually graduated. I loved learning in college but I don’t think graduating ever really made a difference in my career.
I'm working in my degree field. My transcripts were checked for every employment application. People really really want to make sure I am who I say I am. Same for all of my coworkers.
I’m happy for you. Must be a hard science. The vast majority of my friends don’t work in the field of their major- - or minor. Nurses and teachers are the only ones.
When I buy a Ferrari, I’m paying that much money. I don’t want the four-cylinder engine. It’s supposed to come with a 12. That’s what I paid for. I don’t mind learning from a 12-year-old. Often I do. People have lots of knowledge, however where is my professor?
