That is canon these days, but personally I don't like it. As much as people make fun of the glasses as disguise thing, they aren't the only part of the disguise. Clark's mannerisms and personality are also part of the disguise. He goes out of his way to seem too meek and awkward to be a hero. In All-Star Superman, Superman straight up says to Lois "I'm Clark Kent btw" and Lois finds the idea so laughably absurd that she assumes Superman is trying to prank her. That's the disguise. I don't think the hypnosis glasses are necessary at all.

Well at least it (the glasses) explains the visual similarities. Yes, the mannerisms matter to people who know him, but if you're on the street and see someone whose face and build look identical to superman's you don't really think about the man's mannerisms that much, especially when it's someone working for the only news agency that superman does interviews with

The persona is important, but so are the "hypnosis glasses" imo

Not really. There's a psychology thing to it, I think it's actually called the Superman effect. Most people know that Superman is an alien, so they don't expect him to have a secret identity. He lives in the arctic, in his Fortress of Solitude. Why would he need to go around dressed as a mild mannered reporter? It never even crosses most people's minds. It's like how Frodo and Sam were able to sneak through Mordor in tLotR. "One does not simply walk into Mordor". It's such an absurd idea that no one even thinks of it. And since no one thinks of it, it works

Though something like facial recognition software would still be a problem that needs to be addressed.
