Hated Tropes [HATED] Adaptations done intentionally without help from the source

Halo TV show: Before the show came out, the writers were praising their decision to not look to the games for inspiration when making the show

God Of War TV show: Chris Judge, the actor of Kratos in the games from 2018-Now, spoke up about his dislike on the show not hiring anyone who worked on any of the previous games. One of the original creators of Kratos also spoke up about them not having faith in the adaptation.

Supergirl 2026 film: the director for the film not only said he decided to not read Woman Of Tomorrow, the comic the film is adapting, because he wanted to do his own thing, he also didn’t look at comic art for inspiration to design Lobo and instead used an AI image generator to design Lobo’s look for the film

yeah, but there's almost no reason to have a full blown sex scene acted out on screen.

almost all scenes can be replaced with beginning-fade to black-aftermath

That statement is genuinely absurd to me. Why have an action movie - why not just show the aftermath? Why have a love story and not just tell us two people got together? Why show a war movie and not just them signing the peace treatsy? Do you even hear yourself?

hey, if i want to see fucking, there's already a genre for it.

if i'm watching an action movie, spare the fucking thanks

No obviously pornography and naritive film are wildly different, come on. While titillation is one thing sex on camera can do it's also powerful as a storytelling tool

yes, i can see why sex needs to be played out on screen, like in GoT when danny learns to have sex differently to gain power over kal drogo, that can be shown on screen for visual impact.

HOWEVER, not all scenes need to be

That's fair. But right now in most mainstream American movies we don't even get the fade to black, unless it's a "sex movie" and then that's the whole thing, the ballance feels way off. We should be able to have light fun casual sex in movies just like in real life

meh, i can do without them if they're just meant to be "yeah they banged" without the specific sex-related plot relevance like "while banging, the woman noticed spines growing out of the man's ribcage, making her suspect he was a godzilla hybrid" or some shit

That makes sense. I guess I think they're fun and keeping them out of movies all together sends a worse message in a time where straight people seem very anxious about sex already

bonus points if it's just all LGBT sex on screen because straight sex has been overdone already.

no reason gay people can't be the ones to find out about godzilla hybrids first

You can have the character speaking together in the disheveled bed after the fact, so it's implied.

Sure you can but we don't even do that in most movies anymore unless that's all they're about

People do stupid things everyday, doesn't mean they should.

I don't think showing sex in movies is stupid - did you read any of my posts?
