miscellaneous [Dark Trope] Implied child death

• Family Guy - In a deleted scene, Evil Stewie is shown entering the bully's house and giving him a noogie. It seems rather harmless until Stewie mentions "Why's his knuckle turning red?" Then screams of the bully are heard, implying that Evil Stewie noogied his head so hard it punched a hole through the bully's head.

• Old (2021) - In a deleted cold opening, a man is shown crawling and shouting for help in the aging island. What makes this more terrifying is that this person could originally have been a baby or child, it's implied since he's walking on all fours

Similarly, Itachi Uchiha from Naruto during the Uchiha Massacre. There is an infamous fanart of this.

From what i understand Itachi killed none of the children but the other guy did.

Itachi was trying to clear all the adults who were actively planning to take over the village and leave the children who would no longer inherit generational hate from their parents but Danzo wanted as many eyes as possible for his fucked up arm and as such he killed all the children except for one cause Itachi got to him first.

From what you understand? Got a source for Itachi not killing children? It’s in character since he genjutsu tortured his child brother. Then tortured him a second time.

“Understood, Master Skywalker! We fight with you!”

then Anakin and the kids attacked Darth Sideous and the galaxy was safe once more

He called Anakin a master after Anakin was denied, he knew what he was doing

Should have been aware it was a bit of a sore subject

Honestly, kid had the right idea, I'd want out of that movie as soon as possible after what the internet did to Jake Lloyd

On the other hand, Anakin killed the one person that called him master smh

Woh now exclamation marks are the tools of the dark side. We jedi do not emote.

Anakin was afraid of competition for Padme

When this movie came out and I was sitting in theaters. When this moment happened I laughed.

Hard.

I don't know why. There maybe is a bit of absurdity to it that triggered the laugh, but I definitely got some side eye lol

Probably because the acting was bad, the direction was bad and the writing was bad, making what was supposed to be a tragic moment merely farcical.

Imagine being Ewan McGregor and having to say the line “I have seen a security hologram of him… killing younglings” with a straight face.

I remember reading someone say that him covering his mouth while saying that is because he was trying not to laugh at it

I rewatched the prequels after the sequels came out, and as terrible as they are, I think the prequels are infinitely better than the sequels. I cannot fucking stomach the “Wait, what?” quippy humor that has infected movies since the MCU came about.

I liked Buffy but Whedon’s quippy dialogue style doesn’t work everywhere. At some point you need to take things seriously instead of undermining it with a joke.

Um that’s not a child. That’s a youngling.

Probably so that there isn’t a Star Wars movie where “murdering children” isn’t a plot line.
