this is like the one video where he actually says more positive stuff about the movie too
117
u/Comic_Book_Reader Decepticon May 10 '26
It's actually his favorite. By own admission in the video, he weirdly loves it because of how dark, brutal, and mean-spirited it is. I actually feel the same about Sicario: Day of the Soldado and I weirdly like it more than the original for that reason but I digress. It also gave him one of his few running jokes in the form of Optimus war criming Sentinel Prime. Another one is "I'M AN INVENTOR!" from Age of Extinction.

The video is 3.5 years old. Any "damage" done has already been done. It's so fucking stupid
36
u/Toukafan4life Soundwave: Superior May 11 '26
Wasn't this the video where he says that he lik it?
32
u/RolandoDR98 May 11 '26
Hence "damage" in quotes. Companies and studios don't care about content or context
9
u/Arcon1337 May 11 '26
Usually these DMCA strikes are done by an automated system. It's weird how older videos get shut down, but youtube is too lazy to fine tune this and lets any company have the ability to shut down other people's content without justification or reason.

If the entire video is marked this might not be paramount but some nerd upset by it.
26
u/MrHappyHammers May 10 '26
What kind of nerd in the Transformers fandom would get so upset about an opinion regarding Transformers?
18
u/Edfrtytfkgt May 10 '26
The fandom ?
20
u/MrHappyHammers May 10 '26
The Transformers fandom? Overly negative and reacts to small issues in extremes? Unheard of. NOW THOSE WANNABE BAYVERSE “FANS” ON THE OTHER HAND-
/s because some people can’t determine sarcasm.
6
u/Imaginary-Job-7069 May 11 '26
On an unrelated note, are Redditors that dense to the point where one has to point out that they're joking or being sarcastic or that they're asking a genuine question to not get gatekept or joke answers?
1
u/Radi0ActivSquid May 11 '26
So often that there's an entire TFwiki page on items that "killed Transformers" as a brand.
6
u/CesarGameBoy Soundwave: Superior May 10 '26
It’s not even just Transformers. Every fandom has those select few individuals who are not only hyper insane when it comes to the franchise, but also have the resources to actually mess with people. Whether it’s false copyright claims, doxxing, or actual IRL stalking.

Man why does the punishment for disputing a claim have to be deletion? That feels like getting a compliant at your job, taking it up with HR to argue about it, and getting fired if you don’t make the company enough money

u/showyerbewbs May 11 '26

I've worked at 2 places where this was the play. It wasn't about policy or what not it was more "punishment" for exposing the shitty behavior or abuse.
I have never ever trusted any tip line that says it's anonymous simply because after everything is said and done, there's enough breadcrumbs to answer who started it.

They were already on my shitlist for destroying Star Trek and for becoming a willing cryptofascist propaganda outfit. The place stinks of venture capital management priorities and rancid-vibed ideology. Each new misstep just makes me further committed to never giving them another cent.
12
u/Specific_Builder1469 May 10 '26
Non-Trek fan here.....do i ask, what did they do?
10
u/Blue_Kicker May 10 '26
nothing lol this is just your standard "the newest Star Trek is trash and woke/PC" that's been happening since 1987
12
u/Fearless_Roof_9177 May 10 '26 edited May 11 '26
No, I'M woke trash. Modern Trek-- while it did have occasional high points in Lower Decks and Strange New Worlds and delivered a ton of half decent fanservice in the final season of Picard-- is poorly written, shallow, style-over-substance mass market garbage that's been completely bleached of professional aspirationalism or political guts and turned into a fanfic in a failed effort to make it into something Paramount can market to eleventy billion people.
Despite high volume paramount PR campaigns pushing that Starfleet Academy failed because of a few loud racists, NO ONE watched it. Most of the people who hate Star Trek these days think the best one was the one that starred the Black Afro-Futurist captain, the ass kicking resistance terrorist lady, the pansexual worm alien that had been every available gender, and the clearest indictments of war, capitalism, bigotry, and imperialism the series has perhaps ever given.
Those are the days we pine for, not ten shitty "bold-and-edgy" but weirdly thematically cowardly action miniseries episodes per season.
6
u/ArtisticResident462 May 10 '26
Nah they are probably talking about jj Abrams and Picard those sucked
5
u/Banjo-Oz Decepticon May 10 '26
Terrible Abrams movies by a guy who said he didn't really like or get Star Trek. Horrible Picard show that spat on the legacy of TNG-era Trek and Picard himself. I can't believe it's even worse Discovery with mushroom drives and terrible characters.
I know some like Strange New Worlds and hate Academy, but after the above I just couldn't take any more and therefore can't give my opinion on either of those. But everything I have seen since the Fail Upwards King (Alex Kurtzman) took charge is fucking dire and pretty much the exact opposite of either TOS-era or TNG/DS9/VOY-era Trek.
3
3
u/futuresdawn May 10 '26
I mean outside of first contact the tng movies sucked too. The only consistently good movies are Tos also voyager or almost as bad as discovery meanwhile lower decks is the second best trek after ds9
4
u/futuresdawn May 10 '26
Pretty much discovery sucked and because of that people keep claiming all current trek is bad, meanwhile lower decks is top tier trek and strange new worlds is really good
1
u/Prime359 May 10 '26
Prodigy was also a decent watch. Still disappointed that it isn’t getting a third season.
1
u/Prime359 May 10 '26
For me I didn’t like the way the Federation/Starfleet backed away from what its primary mission was in Picard. I didn’t enjoy Discovery’s new spin on the Klingons, which didn’t make sense given the time frame.
Don’t get me started on the weak reason for why an entire galaxy suddenly loses millions of warp capable ships; and by extension warp capacity in general.

I had the same thing debunking cinemasins everything wrong with transformers. Had to axe the full video, which is a damn shame. Some of my best work I won't lie.
Jeremy sinned the film because Bernie Mac died and it's so tone deaf it's hilarious.

12
u/Living-Ad-7400 May 10 '26
Not really, he actually talks about how DOTM is his guilty pleasure BECAUSE of the extreme violence, Pointless Hub is critical of Bayformers but simultaneously still seems to have lots of love for them.
4
u/ArtisticResident462 May 10 '26
Just a movie review of it but also explaining the mindset of the behind the scenes and how the world influences the movie was pretty interesting

Cody’s DOTM video got fucked by Paramount, presumably they got pissy about a video daring to critique their glorious gajillion doobidillion dollar movie
10
u/Blue_Kicker May 10 '26
most of these strikes are automated or through some other company just looking for footage to flag, I highly doubt anyone at Paramount was offended by this video and actively wanted it to be taken down
but the circle jerk is gonna keep circle jerking

Yoo everyone, there's a few webs where it still is there, first being VK video (English options are available) and a web called kisskh.co 2nd one's a little sketchy as long as u dont click on any ads but DOTM is there including all the films that come later apart from TFO
