If you don't have another 5 star Titan, I'd say go the titan. Ruination was pretty badly nerfed so is just kinda mid right now. Twin Twist himself is also kinda mid. He's significantly better with the one Prime core that gives you speed and regen while transformed, but there are other bots that also gain similar benefits from that same core and you only have the one to hand out.
At 4 star ranking, the most impactful, not most powerful, is Computron for defense. He's a total menace with that AoE hack.
4 star offense I'm not sure on. I'd personally would guess Skyreign, but that's just my personal call.
5 star offense I haven't got much experience with the newest ones yet, but generally it is one of newer ones. I have played with Raiden and he is powerful. He's the one I generally keep in reserve for tougher fights. Haven't had any real experience with Optimus Maximus yet though so he might change that.
Not sure what happened but his hack doesn't seem as deadly as it did in the past. Not sure if he got a nerf or something because that thing use to wreck my best team on a regular basis.
Now it is more of a minor annoyance for a few of my teams with only my weaker teams really being threatened by it.
all combiners on defense are effectively just a means to force the opponent into deploying their biner.
Computron doesn't exactly do well for defense because of this unlike skyreign as all of his abilities don't really benefit the base much after he dies, whereas skyreign makes the base temporarily indestructible when the ability pops meaning any hp restoring buildings can heal the base up while the two combiners fight it out.
It depends heavily on who he hits. My main war team still gets destroyed by it in seconds. Funny enough, some of my weaker teams hardly care. Basically, if you have dps in your team that do a good deal of aoe damage, it is absolutely devestating. If you're low on aoe though and have a very tanky squad they won't take nearly the hit, and even better are teams that naturally split up as they tend to bait it to just one or two members.
Before getting a 5-star Titan I always recommended building at least one good team of 5-star bots. Though having more than 1 team of 5-star bots may also be a good idea. I recommend this as Titans aren't available for all game modes, especially weekend events.
In terms of 4 Star Ruination vs a 5 Star Titan, I would say the Titan is the better deal right now.
Honestly they keep doing small nerfs and changes here and there so top dog of combiners keep jumping around. Personally I would say Volcanicus, Optimus Maximus, Raiden, and Magnaboss are the better combiners at this time.
