Ask Crystals

I'm new the the game and currently an hq6, are there any ways of getting crystals other than spending money, I've spent like 10 dollars max kn the game already and plan not to spend more for bots, any advice?

Weekly events usually give a decent bit of crystals. You should ideally join an alliance because alliance events give much better rewards usually

I'm in an alliance but since I'm low hq it isn't the best alliance with inactive members

You’re still early in your journey. Keep grinding and upgrading. Don’t rush your HQ. As you increase level, hop to different alliances until you find one you are happy with.

Grind dispatch missions the small and medium (idk aboutt large) loot crates have like a 1/3 chance to drop 1000 and 3000 premium crystal shards respectively. Also once you’ve purchased all of your construction bots I would suggest dropping 1000 cyber coins on an extra dispatch slot. And as others have said events are terrific for crystals, I mean this current event has 10 auto bot meta maker crystals (pulled a 4 star hound), 2500 (a full crystal!) 3 star shards, and 1000 4 star shards.

And if you ever do have some money to spend then the weekend bundles that are around 5-10 dollars and only allow you to get 2 of them are the best value. The ones this weekend are amazing for getting a big variety of boosts. I started to play in July and I am luck that I can get 2 of them every few weeks and that's all ive spent but now have a lot of bots including some 5 star, 3 months on. Take your time and enjoy
