Workers Lines

So, industries benefit from having workers. Do you create new lines to send workers to the industry? Do you put busses on the same line as your trucks? Do you delete the bus line after the industry is fully staffed? What's the workflow here?

Practically, I can understand having the special busline, but the industries seem to get overstaffed.

It depends. If I Use tram, I ferry cargo and workers on every tram. Otherwise I have a busline that goes to the industry back to city, onward to next industry and back to city etc., so I dont have a busline for every industry

Is it a problem if they're overstaffed? It's not like there aren't enough workers to go around.

As for the bus/truck thing, I've been experimenting with using bus stops to offload cargo into busy neighborhoods without building a proper terminal. I build a small cul-de-sac between buildings with a bus stop in them, drop off goods, and sprinkle in some buses to pickup passengers from them. I rely on my city transit lines to move workers to/from those pickup points.

It's actually going surprisingly well.

Depends on the distance from the city/cities. Sometimes it can help by creating an intercity line with stops along the way, to the industrie, with multiple buses. Or a single bus handles the same two or three locations in a circle line.

I feel like people don't go to work as nico on a dedicated line. If one of your city loops forces then to travel to the industry is like some just say okay I'll go to work.

I always do dedicated line from residential to industry. Always get workers.

I was under the impression the workers needed, typically 10, was a yearly requirement. An I wrong? Should I leave 10 there without a line to take them home again?

No, they return back to where they come from after a while on the same line so I’m assuming it’s intended to be a constant line.

I have dedicated worker lines to all my industries from closest towns and they are all full of workers with passengers on both sending and receiving lines.

Yes. That's what I do too. I was confused by the OP asking if you could delete lines after the industry has man power. Glad you have confirmed his I thought it worked.

I’m actually not exactly sure what would happen if you delete them. I feel like the workers would be angry but I’m not sure if there is an actual observable negative effect from that. They wouldn’t be able to leave though so maybe the bonus remains?

Kind of want to test it but also I like realism so having them constant feels good anyways

Do you do one big loop that stops at multiple industries and multiple towns?

Personally I always do a direct bus route from residential to the workplace. I've seen a few times where I've done transfers etc the workers just won't go even though their town hasn't been developed at all. I'm assuming there's a maximum travel time mechanic in there somewhere.

Who cares if they lose you money. They boost they give us so important. 1 or 2 buses to every industry from the closest city works for me. Helps if the city has its own bus loop to move workers around too. Smaller cities struggle to supply but with their own bus line they grow a bit to help
