Question New Classic Ikon sharpened unevenly - cosmetic only or should I return for a replacement?

Towards the bolster the blade groove is much deeper on one side than the other. Is this just a cosmetic issue or should I get a replacement?

I'm a beginner :)

Nah this is just typical factory overgrind. It happens a lot and QC isn’t great these days.

Do you think?? It came from a UK online retailer. I don't think it's second hand but not sure!

If you are unhappy, you can always just return. Chances are a new one has a similar issue though. You see this quite a lot on Wusthof these days.

That’s a little startling if true

I'd probably just fix it myself. Factory edge isn't that great anyways.

Sight down the edge and spine. Does the blade look straight? Any time you see an edge where the thick part is thin in the other side it's usually not straight. If it's straight then it's more likely the primary/blade grind is somewhat uneven rather than the edge grind(excepting uneven edges at the very heel/tip). Looking at reflections off the blade faces can tell you that but it's a bit trickier.

If it's not straight I would 100% return it.
