In cold blood. Trueman Capote. This is a good place to begin, as you could argue that True Crime as a genre spawned from this book. Its also beautifully written.

In Broad Daylight. The life and sins of a deranged man who terrorize a small Missouri town for 51 years, and was killed with 50 witnesses but nobody was ever charged with his death.

When The Devil Comes Knocking by Anthony Daniels. Details a wrongful murder conviction by accused himself. Has been releasing real trial audio that has made this case a lot more interesting. Would be a good discussion for your group
