The TWW sucks so bad after 13 months TTC. I’m tired 😭

Also 13 months in and in the TWW and I agree. And to think it only gets worse with each failed cycle 💔

u/WiseAdvantage5298 Sep 01 '26
Ugh. I understand how you feel. Each cycle is harder and harder. I feel for you✨

Went to an OB in July for bloodwork, everything was normal, she told me to keep trying for 6 more months and come back. Feels like I’m just wasting time for those 6 months. I’ve been tracking and timing and doing everything “right” and I’ve never seen a positive test. Also, seeing so many peers and people my age announce pregnancies and babies. Just wondering if that will ever be me 😣

u/booksandpups2025 Aug 31 '26
6-7 DPO and took a test just because I’m impatient even though logically I know it’d be negative. It was indeed stark negative lol. And I have all my usual PMS symptoms for the last few days so I just know I’m out again this cycle ugh.

First time posting here, TTC #1 at 34, cycle 4 (sort of? I got my non-hormonal IUD removed in May and watched it proceed to absolutely rock my hormones until I’d say Julyish). I’m currently 11 DPO, told myself I wouldn’t test until my period was late and it’s due Thursday. But I decided to test in the afternoon today, negative, and of course I’ve come up with all the reasons it’s wrong and I could be pregnant. I have so many symptoms but I do every single month ever since I got this IUD removed. I am fatigued, sore boobs, I puke, I cry. And now the despair sets in because of the negative test, which is exactly why I didn’t want to take early tests anymore. This is all complicated by an early loss we had when we first started dating and every month I tell myself it’s a sign something is wrong with me now. Just ready for Thursday to come and go (with hopefully no period).

I also had my hormones go absolutely haywire after removing a non hormonal iud, so I know what you mean.
Also the constant crazy reasoning is exactly how I handle every cycle.

u/marilynmonro 34 | TTC #1 | Cycle 5 Aug 31 '26
Ugh I honestly regret getting the copper IUD so much. I was assured that it would have no impact on my fertility and that so many people get pregnant first or second cycle after removal since you still ovulate. I had a horrific time with it (only 7 months) and seriously thought it was destroying me internally. Besides the weird hormonal things, I also ended up with very bad bladder pain after I got it removed and got an exam and testing done in early July because I felt so certain it had done lasting damage.
Happy to report the bladder pain has subsided over the last two months, but every month that passes I just get in my head that the IUD caused some undetectable problem. Sorry for the vent there, it does make me feel better to hear I’m not alone though with the hormonal impacts.
I never imagined how much grief and anxiety trying for a baby would cause, and in such a relatively short span of time!

For some reason AF decided to be extra vicious this month - very heavy and painful, and I’m on Day 4! Insult to injury, honestly. I just want to nap all day, but am half-heartedly poking away at work.

u/OptimumPsychosis Aug 31 '26 edited Aug 31 '26
Cd 1 and I was taking a pregnancy test as AF started... This weekend, I've heard the news of a baby being born and 2 pregnancy announcements 🙃 while I go onto cycle 14
Edit: make that 3 announcements

I went out on the town on a Saturday night with one of my oldest friends. I hadn’t gone out in months so I was so excited to dress up and let loose. I made it through an IVF round and my bloating was finally going away and I was starting to feel normal again. My friend and I were getting ready together and I let her know about my IVF journey. She got pregnant accidentally on her honeymoon so this is a new world to her. While we were getting dressed I was trying to find something that wouldn’t accentuate my fibroids. Sometimes it looks like I have a little baby bump even though I’m slim. She goes “yeah I can tell that you have pregnancy hormones in you” I was like “well I don’t know about that but these fibroids aren’t from pregnancy hormones sadly they’re just benign tumors”. I ended up going with a really cute short dress that was ruched. Fibroid was somewhat visible but oh well. When we were waiting for our uber to arrive she snapped a selfie of us and posted it on her story. She started laughing and then showed me a DM between her and a man. He was asking who I am and saying I was really hot. She just replies “she’s pregnant”. I was like why would you say that?! And she told me it was because it was a guy she likes and she was just making me look less desirable. I was like please don’t do that and you can just say I’m married. Then later that night she told me that all of her guy friends were asking who the hot girl she’s with is. I told her to just not tell them I’m pregnant and she said that she didn’t but I could tell she was lying.
I just feel like she doesn’t really understand what I’m going through. She thought that I would enjoy that she said that since I do wish to be pregnant. But it was actually really hurtful.

Time for some new, less insecure and more supportive friends.
Seriously, I want to highlight how awful this was. Don't hang around her.

u/puffballkittyfluff 33 | TTC#1| Cycle 11| IVF Aug 31 '26
I know it was so awful and I don’t think she sees that at all. Luckily it’s easy for me to not hang out with her since she lives in another city. I only see her a few times a year. But this has me reconsidering even that

First IUI cycle was unsuccessful 😞 I feel like I’m numb at this point but my husband is taking it really hard and idk what to do or say to lift his spirits. We had such a good response this cycle (20mm, 17mm, 14mm follicles; 26 mill motile sperm post wash; strong progesterone at 7dpiui) except that clomid thinned my lining (5.48mm at cd12). I wish I had more definitive answers of what’s not working because we’re solidly in the unexplained category and it’s such a mind fuck. We plan to do another cycle (out of pocket again😣) but with letrozole this time but the thought of going through another cycle of endless waiting is just grueling.

On day 36 of my longest cycle in 2 years and the first that didn’t perfectly fit my period app’s predictions with multiple negative tests. On the bright side I’ve learned a lot about late ovulation on the annoyed side I’m so tired of my dumb apps being like “wow you might be pregnant, take a test, you’re 3 days late!” Like no I’m not!!! Ugh.

u/pedanticlawyer 38 | TTC#1 Aug 31 '26
First IUI today. The procedure was painless but my butt is still sore from the trigger shot.

u/Dear_isla2042 Aug 31 '26
TTC #1 for 3 years now, cycle # i cant even remember at this point. Had an HSG done 2 weeks ago so pipes are clean. You would think i’d feel a little better this cycle but been at this for so long, it’s hard to keep my mental in check. Oh, also had a dream i had a baby. TWW is bad enough without your own mind dangling the one thing you so badly want

u/No_Oil_7116 Aug 31 '26
Was due to start our first medicated IUI this cycle. Because we are going camping this week the timing of the medications, testing and ultrasounds was all out of whack and probably wouldn’t have worked out.
We opted to skip this cycle and start next. I feel relief of getting a break but also disappointed because I had high hopes of improving our chances. Feel like we are spinning in a hamster wheel.

Was a bit moody yesterday but I guess enough that I put my partner in a mood. He was superrrr moody this morning before he left for work. Oops 🫣
Also think I’m getting sick which sucks; stomach is upset and my throat is itchy 😭😭

Same here!! First time TTC and after obsessing over LH testing over the last nearly 2 weeks I think I caught my peak window. I’m using Premom and although I didn’t love how the app reads the test strips, it was weirdly accurate to my predicted peak.
Fingers crossed but we will see. I’m trying not to think too much into anything but I feel like the TWW is going to feel like a month lol

I just had a dream last night that I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. TTC is hard enough when my subconscious isn’t trying to make me feel worse when I wake up and I’m not even at a point post-ovulation to be able to take a test.

Ughhh I had this too except my subconscious took 4 fucking tests that were all positive 😭😭😭

Took a test today just in case my subconscious was trying to send me a sign, but I guess it wasn’t a sign. Probably too early anyway 🙄

I'm on my first IUI cycle and 11 days post IUI, slated to test on Thursday. Been cycling between positivity and hopelessness. I've been having so many early pregnancy symptoms from the medications and because the symptoms aren't changing, I am really feeling like it didn't work and this is just the meds. Our provider told us it's completely normal to take more than 1 cycle but with the symptoms I'm experiencing, it's hard to imagine doing this for months with no results. I don't feel well enough to commit to any plans and am so exhausted that I need more rest than I've ever needed. Typically I'm not even a napper so this has made me feel even more so that my life is on pause. Not to mention the gastrointestinal upset from the progesterone.

u/Saint_Jerome Aug 31 '26
I got my period this morning, after my longest cycle ever (35 days). I had so much hope this was finally it. I even convinced myself a clearly negative test was a faint positive and was going to retest today. FML

I’ve done the same thing, the squinting and looking at the tests in different lights thinking there HAS to be a little something there haha

u/Internal_Mousse1878 Aug 31 '26
I planned for a medicated cycle in August. Had period on 1st , follicle growth with letrozole then hcg trigger on 12th, ovulation confirmed , waited with progesterone for 15 days with horrible sode effects. Then spotting since last 4 days now. Even my period is not having good flow irrespective of good endometrium thickness.Crying since morning 😓

u/Complex_Maize_5151 27 | TTC#1 | Endometriosis Aug 31 '26
Moody because since I've stopped BC lots of issues have popped up, like antithrombin deficiency, 3 breast lumps (hormonal), 2 ovarian cysts. I am adding on top of that a low AMH even though I am in my 20s. I'm on cycle 4 but feeling defeated because I have so many "problems". I know it's perfectly normal to not conceive in the first 3 months but a little voice inside my head is saying that it's due to infertility caused by endometriosis and not because it's "normal".

u/Original_Shirt4443 Aug 31 '26
Moody because somehow TTC has made me someone who can be disappointed by a negative test, a late period, an early period and basically every symptom in between .
2
u/brittalaneh Aug 31 '26
This is so relatable!! Literally every possible outcome or feeling is something I get stressed or disappointed about. This month I was disappointed because my boobs didn’t hurt!

TMI warning.
Not even sure I want to try for a baby anymore. My partner wasn't able to get an erection for intercourse at all last cycle. The last time we had these issues last year he'd been over-using porn. It was a big issue that ended with him sleeping on the couch for weeks. He got therapy for it. I was very close to leaving him. Guess what, this time it turns out that he's been sexting a fucking AI chatbot. We're a very anti-gen-AI household. This is such a disappointment and turn-off for me.
We're eloping in October and rn I don't know how to even make myself want to have sex with this man.

u/Beneficial_Young5126 Aug 31 '26
Don't read on if you don't want unsolicited relationship advice! Do you think you should consider holding off on the elopement? I'm afraid this could be a pattern with your partner and do you really want to sign yourself up for a lifetime of this?!
2
u/TooDumbToCum 32 | Grad | 🇪🇺 Aug 31 '26
I've been thinking about it. I'm not sure what to do yet. I only found out Saturday night.
I'll try to make my mind up this week. I think I'd only continue with the elopement under the condition that he restarts his sex therapy and goes at least once a month indefinitely.
Thank you for the advice <3 I don't really have anyone to talk about this IRL. It's just too embarassing.
4
u/Beneficial_Young5126 Aug 31 '26
I'm so sorry. I can imagine it's a topic you would want to keep private. I hope whatever decision you make, it works out in a way that you end up happy.

Is IVF really very painful 😣 i have heard
3
u/No_Giraffe2555 Aug 31 '26
I have a normal-to-low pain tolerance and the only painful time for me was the immediate aftermath of the egg retrieval. I also refused prescription pain meds, so I imagine it could be easier with those vs OTC advil. Injections were a breeze.

u/Educational_Clue7522 36 | TTC# 1| Cycle 16 Aug 31 '26
Waiting to start IVF in October. Absolutely sick of the waiting of TTC. Also, every time I tell someone about IVF, they react in a way that feels totally inappropriate to me. They think it's exciting positive news which is just so bizarre. It's so isolating. I wish we could just get started and then even if it isn't going to work at least we can get out of this phase of our life.
2
u/unbreakableheaven 35 | TTC#1 | June 2025 | Endo & IVF Aug 31 '26
Yes I've heard that as well. People think IVF = baby is imminent, which is not exactly the case! Plus it negates all that came before someone decided to do IVF, all the trying and failed cycles. I do think people mean it in a good way, so it doesn't bother me too much, but interesting how non-IVF people view it as something exciting.
2
u/No_Giraffe2555 Aug 31 '26
I learned through my own IVF experience that 3/4 of my friends/close colleagues with babies/toddlers had also done IVF. It was a somewhat positive development and made me feel way less isolated. Could it be something like that?

I think my best friend is pregnant. We have both been trying for a long time and I know she had an IUI three weeks ago. If she got her period she would have told me and she is being weird about scheduling time to see each other. I will be so happy for her but I am so, so anxious about it.
