Hi all,

I'm a cybersecurity engineering student and I'm about to buy a ThinkPad E14 Gen 7. Before I buy, I'd like to hear from people who have used it for a year or more. Real experience, good or bad.

The config I'm looking at:

- Intel Core Ultra 7 255H (Ultra 5 235H is also ok)

- 32GB DDR5

- 1TB SSD

What I'll use it for:

- Up to 3 VMs at the same time (Kali + lab machines)

- WSL and Docker

- Coding and normal uni work

- No gaming, no AI stuff

- Plugged in most of the time, I carry it sometimes

Budget is around 4300 max, upgrades included. I want to keep it 4-5 years, and the two things I really want to avoid are heat problems and BIOS problems.

My questions:

1. After 1 year, is it overrated or underrated? Would you buy it again?

2. How hot and loud does it get under long heavy load (VMs, Docker builds)? Does it throttle?

3. Any BIOS or firmware problems? (sleep issues, fan bugs, bad updates)

4. How is the build after a year? Hinge, keyboard, body flex, anything broken?

5. Did you upgrade the RAM or add a second SSD? Was it easy?

6. Is it fine to keep it plugged in all the time? Do you use a battery charge limit?

7. Gen 8 is out now but it's more expensive. Is Gen 7 still a good buy, or is a used T14 / EliteBook a better deal for the same money?

Thanks a lot!

We're hiring creators to post short trading videos for Polairyx, an AI macro trading terminal. It reads world news in about 3 seconds and tells traders whether an asset leans bullish or bearish, with the reasons.

What you'd do:

• Open a new Instagram or TikTok account in the trading niche, dedicated to Polairyx
• Post 2 videos a day, 30 to 180 seconds, talking to camera
• Normal trading content (market news, your routine, reactions to big releases like CPI or the Fed) with Polairyx mentioned naturally, not like an ad
• We send you a brief with example hooks and video ideas

Pay:

• Monthly retainer: €300 to €600
• Bonus: €1 per 1,000 views from the US and tier-1 countries
• A video counts once it passes 5,000 views and at least 60% of its views come from the US and tier-1 countries

You need:

• Fluent spoken English and comfort on camera
• Basic trading knowledge, enough to talk about the markets accurately
• The ability to grow a new account toward a US and tier-1 audience. You don't need to live in the US.
• 18+

To apply, send a video of you talking to camera, or your current account, through the form: https://creators.clip2earn.money/?utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=r-forhire

Questions in the comments or by PM. The campaign runs through Clip2Earn, a creator marketplace.

Some of you might recognize me from the recent dev updates I have been posting here. Lately, I have been going back and forth on a major decision regarding my game's release strategy.

My original plan was to get my Insta acc to 1k followers first to ensure the game had a solid audience foundation before paying for the Steam listing. However, as my Reels gain views, I am worried that I am wasting potential traffic by not having a Steam wishlist link ready for interested viewers.

Since I am a university student, $100 is a significant amount of money for me to throw around. I am hesitant to take the risk if the game fails to gain traction.

Should I launch the Steam page now to capture early wishlists, or stick to building an audience on social media first??

Which one is worth buying

Hey everyone,

I’m a Mobile Developer based in Tunisia with roughly 1 year of professional experience building cross-platform Flutter apps. I recently finished a 1-year contract at a local tech startup, but the local market has completely stagnated (mostly dominated by short-term government-subsidized contracts for fresh grads), and I'm finding it nearly impossible to land a stable role here.

My ultimate goal is to move toward remote work with European companies or secure an eventual relocation, but cold-applying from North Africa with 1 year of experience has been a massive wall.

I'm at a crossroads: should I save money for a Master's degree in Europe as a visa pathway, or should I drop Flutter and mobile development for a different tech stack that has better relocation/remote demand?

I wanted to share my anonymized CV here to get a brutal critique of what I'm doing wrong, and hear from others who managed to break out of a similar local market:

Here is my current resume layout:

* Integrated Google Maps/OpenStreetMap, contact-based invitations, localized calendar modules, and biometric authentication (Face ID/fingerprint).

* Maintained a **100% crash-free rate** across all production sessions utilizing Firebase Crashlytics and custom error boundaries.

* Configured native iOS build settings (signing, provisioning profiles) and automated end-to-end deployments using GitHub Actions and Fastlane.

* **Qaza (Real Estate Platform):** Developed a production-ready property booking mobile app featuring complex scheduling workflows, agent availability tracking, and real-time push notifications.
