Chicken

Hi, is there some sort of “organic” chicken , with no hormones or steroids used on it?
And if there is what brand you recommend and where to buy.

Im following a diet that restricts chicken because of it’s growth hormone so im looking for alternatives.

The chicken you buy at the supermarket is a breed meant for quick growth and slaughtering, it's known as Broiler chicken, it has white feathers only and it's fed a controlled diet that makes it grow to slaughter weight within 30 days.

If you want to eat REAL chicken, you'll get these at the market. These chickens have colorful feathers like brown, Black and a bright red Neck, these are the original chickens humans ate and these are grown naturally and take 90 days to 110 days to reach slaughter age. These cost 80 AED to 100 AED depending on their weight (alive) and you'll pay 10 AED to slaughter the chicken the Halal way and take it home. This is the only way to eat real chicken, my Emirati friend actually has a small chicken coop in his house and he grows his own chicken for meat and has Hen's laying fresh Eggs daily.

I buy Al Youm fresh chicken from the supermarket, their quality is superior to other brands but it is broiler chicken no doubt. It is one of the best you can buy though.

Check out bostock’s from New Zealand. Incredible quality, but not cheap

I used to go to Ajman Market to buy farm chicken, but the smell and the sight of the slaughtering area were quite upsetting, so I stopped going.
