Undergraduate Courses CAO DN700

I am applying as an IB student and was wondering what kind of documents they require from me? Would they ask for dp1/dp2 report cards or predicted grades or do they only ever ask for the official results?

I was kind of scared because my DP1/DP2 report cards had low grades and did not match the CAO cutoff but my official score is likely to be much more than that, not sure if they require those report cards or only the official ones are sufficient.

Please help, I am an EU IB student. I would love to hear from UCD applicants or students, or anyone who knows how the process works.

They don't want report cards, just your final results

i dont think thats how it works, correct me if im wrong but i think OP would have to submit reports when they apply in november for the 2027 intake to show proof, correct me if im wrong, and then later they show the final results

You are wrong. Perhaps you are thinking of the English system. The Irish system works very differently.

The CAO does not want a school reference or school reports. They're only interested in your final IB results.

There is an 'Upload Supporting Documents' section, but this is not for school reports. It's for any qualifying documents e.g. IELTS

Wait so the other guy is wrong? I wouldn’t have to submit any kind of report cards when I apply, not anything and the only thing to submit is official score, kinda got confused from the other guy response but I believe you.

Yes. They are wrong. You can see how to apply on p92 here. https://www2.cao.ie/downloads/documents/2026/Guidelines-EU-EFTA-UK-2026.pdf

You are so wrong. You need to upload a report to show them what your subjects are and if you meet the requirements; otherwise, how would they confirm that this student is eligible to apply when OP applies in November? OP do NOT listen to him he doesn't even have any proof.

Again, you're confusing it with the English system.

There is no pre-eligibility check by the university. It's up to you to know you meet the course requirements as set out on the university website.

Then in August, if you meet the subject requirements and get the required CAO points, you get an offer.

My daughter applied via the CAO from an EU IB program this year. Basically just ensure you have everything submitted and confirmed via the CAO regarding courses and programs. Then it all comes down to your actual IB results. Ireland is really late deciding because the Irish exams are late, she found out only Aug 26th along with everyone else. Though based on your scores and the prior year’s requirements you will get a read of your chances.
