Online classes
When you take a web based class does it say on your transcript that it was online? And is it any easier or harder to get an A?

No. The transcript doesn't specify whether a class was taken online. It just says what semester you did it or if it was a transfer credit.
Generally though, its recommended to take your harder classes in person so you have quick access to the professor if you're struggling. For the easier classes, you can take those online to make your schedule more flexible.

It does not say on your transcripts if the class was online or not.
Honestly some classes it was harder to get an A online.

Method of class does not show. Online is a format that most people don't enjoy or work well in. Web live is easier because theres a weekly zoom meeting and feels more normal, but web based is the worst, because students often underestimate the class and then fail to properly manage their time or reach out for assistance.
Some believe they are easier classes, and i personally found them better for my mental health. Now that I'm teaxhing one, I'll tell you that most students are succeeding without issue. I never see them, but they are succeeding and this isnt a class that can be chatgpt'd and get correct answers.
I have a handful of students who were never taught necessary time management and prioritization skills who are struggling. Of them, only one has reached out for help. The others are unfortunately likely not going to pass due to lack of aubmissions and their grade performance. I could work something out if theyd respond/reach out, but I can't meet them more than half way. That wouldn't be fair to the other students who are either doing the work successfully or are coming into office hours.
Either way, carefully consider your commitments and time, and what block of your schedule you are going to do the online class work in. If you are trying to add it to a full schedule, you'll suffer. You can still succeed, but it'll suck. I am begging you to timeblock your weekly schedule and THEN decide if online is for you.
If you want help with that, or want more details, send me a dm. Ive been teaching online for years now, and took most of my grad degree online too

Great advice, thank you! Honestly I don’t learn well in lectures and have found how to be successfully learning all content outside of class anyways. I feel like having that plus this info going in I can make sure to plan well and stay on track. One class I need to take next semester only has one in person section with 60 seats and I basically have not shot at getting into that so I’m expecting to have to be online for at least that one.

Some online classes are harder to get an A in. I don’t think so though no. Some classes are only available online as well.
