Need advice: application UN Assistant or ICMPD Manager?

People, I need a piece of advice! I got an offer from the ICMPD local office for a managerial position, and currently I am with the UN family in an assistant position. What would you do? Pay and benefits are similar; the question is about future career prospects 🤔

How stable is your UN assistant position and is it subject to funding? The funding crisis is just about to get worse honestly ....if the other position is more solid why not?

Also if you have UN experience and outside as well...you are usually even ina better position to come back at higher posts. Its been said going in and coming back out helps

Thanks for the advice! Tbh, neither position is safe or stable; the most solid contracts you get here would be 12 months instead of 6. So, in that regard as well, the positions are similar. I guess my main question is whether I should exit the UN for a "lesser" organization, and whether it would be harder to come back than if I don't leave, keeping in mind that the UN is a long-term plan.

What contract are you holding now at the UN? And how stable funding at your new org. If you are in your 20s, I think it wouldn’t hurt trying something new or taking on more responsibilities.
