OU is a good rival (the feelings are mutual, hate for a peer you enjoy competing with)
So called A&M “rivalry” is the loud nut job down the street who won’t shut up about you and makes hating you his whole personality. miserable bullshit
If Norman Oklahoma vanished tomorrow morning I’d mourn the loss of a great rivalry and tradition. If College Station vanished tomorrow morning I’d thank the lord I never have to see or hear another maroon freak who has zero personality outside hating big brother

Grew up for decades seeing A&M play UT every year on Thanksgiving. How does no one remember this, lol

Exactly. Aggy is the delusional shit I'd rather avoid. They are insufferable. OU as much as I dislike...I respect the rivalry.

It took UT joining the SEC to force this game to happen. TAMU had no interest in playing. Seems like if truly a nut job like you said they would have been itching to play. IIRC they turned down the game numerous times.

Wow that’s great to hear! Makes it that much sweeter to curb stomp that sorry ass team you have. I’ll be sure watch that game in Austin and head to 6th street after!

u/Hyhttoyl Oct 19 '25
looking forward to all the awkward interactions I’ll get watch you have drunk off three beers hitting on texas girls who don’t care about the rivalry and don’t understand why you’ve brought it up then shyly downplayed it repeatedly while flirting
-2
u/Relevant-Apple8142 Oct 19 '25
I’ll be too busy puffing my cigar and blowing into the teary faces of horns fans

u/TexasNatty05 Oct 19 '25
A&M is insufferable even when they lose. They. Always. Talk.
When they win, it’s like an unholy inferno.
My thought has always been:
It’s sweeter to beat OU and not the end of the world if we lose to them, because OU is a nationally respected program and we’re not around their obnoxious fans all the time.
It’s horrible to lose to A&M and not near as sweet to win, because when we win, we’re big brother and we are supposed to win… when we lose, we’re constantly reminded of it even if we slobber knock them for the next five years after. Playing them is a lose-lose-lose. I was not upset at all when this game was not happening.

A&M has a reputation in the sec for being kinda cringe. Somehow y’all still have become the most hated fans in the league. Wonder why that is.
7
u/TexasNatty05 Oct 19 '25
We are far from the most hated. UGA and Bama are still enemy number one for most.
We are a big brand that was new and looked down on but made the CCG in year one. That’s bound to rile up some. Especially those that have been around forever and never made one. Crazy. Couldn’t be us.

u/Relevant-Apple8142 Oct 19 '25
Those teams have a lot of longstanding sec rivalries and are regarded as top teams. Texas fans are hated for spouting nonsense like saying “we run the sec” without winning a sec championship and having not made a nat’l championship for the last 2 decades. Things like trashing the field when you don’t get a call certainly don’t help.
3
u/TexasNatty05 Oct 19 '25
Anyone saying we ran the SEC is a straight up moron. That would be a small subset of our fandom. Not like A&M isn’t familiar with a small subset of fans embarrassing them in front of everyone.

No but for real. That game is on my birthday, I have tickets, and now I’m thinking I might need to invite my therapist too 😩

I would take losing every year to A&M over attending A&M

u/juniperjibletts Oct 20 '25
Lol my sister went to a&m and my dad literally did not speak a word to her for 2 years
2
u/fredlabs_ Oct 21 '25
Well your dad literally sucks. Family is more important the college you go to. And they say TAMU is the cultlike university.
1
u/juniperjibletts Oct 23 '25
Nah my sister sucks she went to a&m , my dad's dope cuz he still paid for school just wouldn't talk to her lol

u/fredlabs_ Oct 25 '25
You're a bad sibling and your dad still sucks. You're embarrassing your university

it’s funny how with the OU game I want to win because fuck OU that’s our hat get STOMPED, but with A&M I don’t really care that we win I just can’t stand corny loud weird aggies so we absolutely must not lose
15
u/ajalonghorn Oct 19 '25
Such an insufferable fanbase.
After 5 years they outrank us and start to act like we are all intolerable trolls when their entire existence is being the kid at the playground who talks from the sideline.
I used to root for A&M to win against non-Texas teams. After these last three weeks I’m done doing that, and maybe that’s a good thing.
-11
u/FreezerBlue Oct 19 '25
Yeah it must be hard watching us have an actual offense, it's okay little bro, see y'all soon!
15
u/ajalonghorn Oct 19 '25
I honestly could care less. Y'all the type of people to go into another teams sub and troll. Which is exactly the point of my comment. It's sad.
1
u/SlushyBear7 Oct 19 '25
Surely there are no longhorn trolls on the A&M sub, right?
1
u/ajalonghorn Oct 19 '25
Well I’m not and you’re here so that’s the only evidence I need
-1
u/SlushyBear7 Oct 19 '25
Fantastic logic…
0
u/ajalonghorn Oct 19 '25
That kinda logic is why I got into the better school 🤪
2
u/SlushyBear7 Oct 19 '25
And there it, why so many people hate longhorns - inflated egos. Acting like your school is just flat better than A&M and there aren’t nuanced things each school does better is something a 19 year old says. Keep that attitude tho, just building up more people who hate your school 🤷♂️.

A good number of Aggies are trying to avoid thinking about the impending doom. They are worried that the set up is worse than usual.
3
u/JizzM4rkie Oct 19 '25
Someone in Arch's classes slip him a note that just says "Deflategate 2?" On it.
4
u/Moist_Ad7463 Oct 19 '25
I will always maintain that we have twice as many wins as losses in the all-time series. OU is much closer, actually worth the term rivalry. The A&M game matters much more to them, simply because they are historically much worse.

u/4Aziak7 Oct 19 '25
A&M defense is trash, but so is our offense.
1
u/rsf0626 Oct 20 '25
A&Ms defense is a rollercoaster. Sometimes they look awful, other times the best in the SEC. Really never know

If we can somehow get the rest of the teams to punt every play maybe Niblett can carry us through to a Natty
2
u/Relevant-Apple8142 Oct 19 '25
If it happens it’s well deserved. I was in college station for last years lone star game and y’all’s fans were by far the most insufferable I’ve ever seen. And that’s saying something having played LSU and bama over the years. The amount of horns fans calling people fa**ots and throwing beer from the back of cybertrucks was crazy.

Due to the boot licking recently, I will be rooting against UT from here on out.

I mean, if you think A&M doesn't lick boots I have some bad news for you lol

1
u/ATXoxoxo Oct 19 '25
In general, just I will just root for any Texas team to lose
0
u/AryaStarkRavingMad Oct 19 '25
Atta boy, that'll show 'em. Those college kids playing games are the real villains here.
1
u/ATXoxoxo Oct 19 '25
It's not about the college kids. It's about the people that make money off of farming them.
1
u/Present-Resolution23 Oct 19 '25
Our offense is trash, particularly our offensive line.
Their defense is trash and just gave up 42 points to 2-5 Arkansas and only won by 3.
So.. it'll be an interesting game.. I think our defense is better than our offense is bad.. but we'll see.

A&M is having their best year ever while our already inexperienced o-line (4 of 5 of our starters last year are in the NFL now) is injured and we’re having to play even MORE inexperienced linemen. Winning vs. Mississippi State and Arkansas and losing every other game would be a good year despite what the haters and casuals say. Any other win would just be icing on the cake. But yeah A&M will be insufferable for a while if they win
