I'm looking for a satisfactory free emoji font. I'm looking for the latest Unicode 18.0-compatible Unicode emoji font, but there's nothing I'm satisfied with. I would appreciate it if you could let me know if you find it.

There seems to be no fitting unicode characters for the act of squatting abandoned property right now, unless you count ⇴. The proper symbol would be useful in general, around discussions about squatter's rights and pro-housing squatter's movements. I would still argue the symbol would not be an inherently politically motivated addition to unicode, and it's addition to unicode would benefit everybody affected, such as the homeless and adopters of the hobo lifestyle, as well as people discussing it. What do you think? Are there people here who could add this to unicode?

I have of course a collection of various favorites in Unicode but I was hanging out in Mathematics et al. when I apparently angered the uGods and an entire SHEET WAS nuked!!
I am desperate to reclaim it. Or rather this seems a good opportunity for me to get suggestions on all edge effects.
The principal one I need right now joins with his brothers to form the tear-off edge common to paper cash receipts and printing calculators. I am sick to have lost it and perhaps someone has seen it and can rescue me? But let’s talk Edges generally and someone can diagnose the little fellow. It’s similar to the edges of a postage stamp if that helps, but my prior description is closer to it. You could blink and miss it.
Watcha got?

The "Happy Poop"💩 emoji is excellent and seems popular. The Android text messages have a poop that twirls around, smiling with circling flies. The onscreen display of a single text-poop causes the entire screen to "go brown" as chunks of poop are flung fervently and forcefully.
The opposite is badly needed. From colonoscopy prep all the way to sticky employment situations involving diarrhea-related absence ... nothing is more essential than an unhappy, almost mean poop, with its beady little bloodshot poop-eyes looking up in dread. I envision it dripping just a little bit. tle. The flies circle the poop and crash land. When placed on a text message line of its own, I envision a steady spray that completely coats the screen with liquid brown e-diarrhea.
.....................
I am not a regular poster here. I am trying to reach People of Power (POP) in the Emoji world who can get the Unicode Consortium to perform a much-needed EMERGENCY update. I looked at their form to submit changes and it is beyond my knowledge base. If anyone knows a POP, please proudly present this perfect proposal promptly. Thank you, from Andy in Oregon.

This image, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:The_Latin_Extended_Alphabet.png, includes a large group of extended Latin letters.
Now, the date (in the summary section) says "[created] 14 June 1998". This is anachronistic since many of those Latin letters (e.g. Latin Extended-D) were added to Unicode during the 2000s. It certainly doesn't help that "file history" says it was uploaded on 19 April 2023 (which would make sense).
Can someone explain what's with the 1998 date?

https://www.njstar.com/cms/cjk-code-to-unicode-conversion
I was using Medieval Cue Splitter ver 1.2, and when I split the cue file, the text is all like this:
"[Áº³¯Î°]_ËÔ¸.cue" and I use the above link, I select Chinese GBK to Unicode, and the text will then be convert to Simplified Chinese.
Now I switch to Cue Splitter 2.0, it gives the option of loading it in 3 different GBK:
GB18030
GB2312
GB2312-80
and I don't know which one to choose that matches the njstar link that I've been using. Also
and SAVE it in
Unicode 1201
Unicode 12001
Unicode 12000
Unicode 65000
Unicode 65001
Now, I want to save it in Traditional Chinese instead of save it Simplified Chinese. Is there such an option in Cue Splitter 2.0? As in is there an unicode or some other save format that output in Traditional chinese instead?

It should have the same latinoid style as everything else. Improving the first bottom character and/or the fifth bottom character would also be helpful.

For example, if you go to the Latin Extended-D chart and search U+A781, you'll see the annotation:
voiceless alveolar lateral fricative [ɬ]
fully in what I think is some variant of Myriad Light, including the IPA letter [ɬ].
Is there a place (e.g. MyFonts, etc.) to purchase this IPA Myriad font, or is it exclusive to The Unicode Consortium?

For example the character☻. I know emojis are unicode but like these types of unicode-moji hybrids confuse me on why they exist.
Anyone got an answer besides "yeah it is just how it is" cause I have a feeling ill get a lot of that

If a proposal is marked as “under consideration”, does that mean it’s basically a shoo-in to be used in a future Unicode release, or does it still have a fair chance of being rejected? (Yes I know the literal definition provided on the Unicode website, I’m asking about the chance of an an emoji proposal marked “under consideration” to become an actual emoji)

Their profile is private, but you can see my just scrolling through. r/unicode that they’ve been creating dozens of posts per day focused on very mundane and already-known things. I doubt this adds anything worthwhile to the community and might lead people to mute the user / this community so they don’t receive so many posts from them.

Unicode 18.0 is out, with 13,007 new characters.
A few of my favorite additions:
• 323 Proto-Cuneiform numerical signs. People were pressing these into clay tablets in Mesopotamia around 5,000 years ago. Now they have Unicode code points.
• 11,328 Small Seal characters. This historical Chinese script accounts for roughly 87% of the entire release.
• 72 historical mathematical symbols and 73 musical symbols. Old manuscripts and musical notation need digital representation too.
• Nine new emoji, including a pickle, a lighthouse, and a cracking face.
There’s something lovely about a text standard making room for both ancient accounting and whatever we’re going to do with a pickle emoji.
Disclosure: I’m the founder of SYMBL.cc. We’ve already updated our character table for Unicode 18.0, so you can browse the new additions there.
