[MEGATHREAD] Freshman Housing Assignments!
Use this for discussing housing assignments. Do your best to keep discussion under each house comment. I'll leave the older threads up, but will be deleting new ones to keep everything in one place. Good luck in freshman year! You'll have a great time :)

Idk if freshmen got their vanderbilt login stuff yet (probably already did) but if you go here and scroll down theres a link to floor plans: https://ready.app.vanderbilt.edu/
Just select the right building in the dropdown and choose what floor and u can use the ruler to get measurements.
Desk dimensions idk though but somewhere in the ballpark of 2 feet x 2 feet ish and u get three of them

Were you able to find anything under floor plans? When I used link, and clicked on floor plans search comes up with no results, as if all info was wiped.

This works BUT the housing portal floor plans only show shape but don’t have any measurements or square footage like the readyapp ones do

Yeah it worked for me maybe your Internet is bad or try a new browser? It didn’t work for me on operaGX browser.
It should have a big dropdown with all the buildings on campus and then the floor plan only loads after you select a floor as well.

how bad is north honestly? and how are their triples? i looked on at 3d simulator and it looks rlly small and why are the desks n dressers under the bed💔is there anyway that we could move that or? and how r the communal bathrooms(btw this is for floor 4)

Loved my time in north, super tight-knit community. Rooms are definitely smaller, so lofting the beds and putting in desks honestly does make the most sense. Maybe 1 of yall can get away with not lofting, but you'll have to see when you get there. I'm a dude, but our communal bathrooms were totally fine 99% of the time.
You'll be fine, and don't forget to check your ceiling tiles!

I looked at the virtual dorm tour for Stam on the housing website, but if you zoom into the map on the door it says Murray. I think they published the wrong tour. Does anyone know what the deal is with that?

These tours are actually new for this year, and I don’t think vandy wanted to spend much money on them. For the freshman dorms that look pretty similar and were all built in the same year I think they just put the same virtual tour for all of them.
Same thing with the upperclassmen res college virtual tours. If you look at Zeppos or Roth suites they’re obviously not Zeppos or Roth but rather are Carmichael suites 3d scans because the floor color and trim color and furniture are wildly different in these dorms, and yet the virtual tour has the same exact rooms for each.
Kinda mad they didn’t actually take the time to do it for each since there are still differences even though minute.

My daughter has been assigned to Murray. Looks like it is one of the newer houses and has laundry. But I can’t find much info. What are the pros and cons? I fear she’s bringing way too much stuff.

I am always team "leave most of your stuff and then order it online or pick it up at Thanksgiving" if that's at all feasible.

Not excited about the room sizes :(((( I know we can manage but it just feels so unfair because some rooms actualy have space to walk and taller cielings but oh well we'll make the best of it

its all good I've met alumni from class of 2009 and Gillette is like a canon bonding point. Great for connections. Also have met alumni who were interested in connecting after finding out I lived in Gillette and laughing at me. Definitely some positives

I met a family friend who lived in Hank Ingram the first year it opened and he absolutely bullied me for being in Gillette in the big 25 but now we’re pretty close

It worked for me I’m not sure what’s happening to u. When I searched Crawford it gave me Crawford house but I could also find it in the big drop down in the search bar. The floor plan doesn’t load until you also select a floor number from the other dropdown.
Maybe try a different browser or change your internet??
