Without early adopters, not enough funding would lead to future revisions.

Ok but we are sieaking of 240 bucks… not 30/40 like carts for other systems…

You have not understood what I mean, do you??

You dont understand the limitations of the VB for flashcarts.

I understand what you mean but we are speaking of 240$… you cannot resolve this price saying that the prev owners are required to create a better one… and you are speaking of people, like me, that bought it 2 months ago… at that moment the new version was already in an advanced state…

I also purchased the old versions. Even a Black white HF32, then a black white red HF32. Then the mrcart rev 1 with plastic shell, then the HB, then the HB+. Things will constantly get revised. Look at cell phones... theyre revised every year. Its nothing new.

Ok… not everyone wants to/can waste money like that… sorry man but your pov is distorted imho.

I do not recommend owning a VB or a VB flashcart then. You should get a switch and play the games via the NSO app. Its cheaper than real hardware and custom flashcarts.

As the owner of one of the first 16Mb carts I can tell you that it could be worse.

u/digitalgamer0 Sep 16 '26

Did you ship yours in to get a firmware update?

I don't think mine needs one? It's about 10-15 years old, in a 3D printed case.

Oh sorry misread. Thought you meant the first MrCART.

So the Multiboy is still coming? https://www.retroonyx.com/product-page/multiboy-vb-multicart

Is this basically a stopgap before that releases, or a replacement?

EDIT: Official word from RetroOnyx about Multiboy: "I don't think [Multiboy will happen], to be honest. MrCART128 does it plus more (sound). But after this many years doing VB projects, never say never. All I can say for sure is that MrCART128 exists and Multiboy does not."

No word on the multiboy. Most likely the mrcart128 is the product for next foreseeable future.

This is what I hoped it was but still ordered this new one. I have an older 2 or 3 color version and the last one from him. I guess I can always sell the older ones at some point but eh we'll see. If the one you linked ever comes out I'll sell all 3 and just keep the one you linked.
