It's been 20 years. He was my favorite wrestler and I'm still firmly in the "fuck him I don't care how good he was at his job" camp, but zero people are going to have their mind changed on this one way or another.

No one is bringing a hot new take to the Chris Benoit conversation in 2026.

I knew I smelled a dead horse around here somewhere.

I heard from somewhere that Nancy was planning on taking Daniel and leaving Chris. I think Regal knew about this, or at least the fact that there was issues in the marriage, thus his hesitation to comment on Chris during the tribute show. No one knows what happened that day but I think she told him that, and that that, along with years of abuse to his head from wrestling, and the fact that he was already a pretty intense and emotional person, made him fly into a rage and kill her. After realizing what he'd done he killed Daniel and then himself.

I think most people would agree that CTE played a part in what happened but still condemn Chris for his actions.

Benoit is in hell, and Hogan is in heaven. This fact upsets Reddit to no end!
