PLEASE REPORT Cheating/Spam or Otherwise Forbidden Posts

Hi there, hope everyone has been having a good day.

I've been seeing an uptick in cheating/spam posts recently, and I hate to do a post like this, but I sadly have to.

I just removed a post DIRECTLY promoting cheating services, and I also banned that user immediately and PERMANENTLY.

I will not play with this. Any user caught doing this gets an INSTA-BAN. We do not promote cheating here.

There will be no second chances or explanations. If you do it, you will be banned.

Honestly, I don't understand it. WGU is such a wonderful school, and so many people are working hard and achieving their dreams. What I love about this school, is that ANYONE can do it. Anyone can succeed as long as you work hard and focus. So why cheat? Why would ANYONE want a degree they didn't earn?

Whether you do it fast or slow, its YOURS. Why promote cheating?

Well, either way, I will not let cheaters and other fools come here and ruin this for others who derive such great motivation, knowledge and advice from you lovely people.

I usually don't post too often, and I occasionally come on and offer my congrats to your wonderful celebratory posts (Keep them coming, and PLEASE brag as much as you want! You worked hard!) but I will always respond to these clowns who think they will come on here and jeopardize this wonderful sub.

If you see any nonsense like this, please notify me, and as soon as I see it, I will happily remove it and BAN the idiot.

Thank you to the users who notified me. I appreciate you.

You are all so wonderful, and I am so thankful for you all being here and sharing your wonderful insights and advice to help others obtain their dreams.

To those who are struggling: You got this. Don't give up. You will succeed.

To those who have achieved: Great job, for you are simply amazing.

I love you all.

A Subreddit for MBA Students @ WGU!

Hey everyone, I am an alumni of WGU and I wanted to create a new subreddit for all students who attended WGU Business School for their MBA. (All MBA's - MBA, MBA-HM, MBA-IT etc)

I wanted to create a lively and "mod-minimum" community where MBA students can post and share their class and course experiences, along with helping others who may pass through this excellent university!

Don't hesitate to share your experiences! This subreddit is for you. Free speech will be given to all. No matter the opinion. We only ask that you don't post actual class or coursework, as that can be seen as cheating.

Forgot to add this was C214-Financial Management!!

Found the OA questions moderately challenging. There was some content that I wasn't entirely familiar with, but I made an "educated" guess. The excel calculations were very standard (TVM, Bonds). What really tripped me up was the countdown clock that showed how much time I had left. It says you have 3 hours. I ended up using 2 hours as my screen was giving me issues when I toggled back and forth from the questions to the formulas. I submitted the OA and it said I was "overtime". However it ended up coming back as passed. I was so relieved. There's no way I wanted to write it again!

C215 Done!!!

I finally completed this course!! I initially reviewed all of the slides and completed all the quizzes in the textbook. I took the pre-assessment 3 times and failed all attempts.

It wasn’t until this weekend I decided to input my questions and responses into ChatGPT and have it review section by section and quiz me on the concepts with different questions.

I then took the pre-assessment for the 4th time; scored exemplary; then had ChatGPT give me a 70 question quiz on the concepts; reviewed them, and immediately scheduled the OA.

It’s really important to learn the concepts as the OA requires you to identify appropriate definitions, topics, planning, etc. to specific scenarios. Reviewing the definitions and knowing how to apply them in different scenarios through AI quizzes really helped me retain the information. With concepts I didn’t comprehend, I had ChatGPT explain it to me like a 5th grader.

This was definitely tough as I struggle with memory recall, but I am glad I was able to finally pass.

C213 OA

Just took the PA and it kicked my ass. Does the OA have as many “select all that apply” questions as the PA does?? Also any tips would be great. I’m really struggling with this class.

Question about C204 Task 2

I'm a bit confused about how parts A&B (the PowerPoint presentation) relate to part C, which is the multimedia presentation.

I can easily put together the PP for A&B, but when it comes to C... is it just me speaking about and explaining the exact same presentation, perhaps with some filler added... ie, welcoming people to Merrillton Robotic, talking about the importance of communication methods, summarizing, etc. ?

If I submit part C as a PowerPoint with me recorded speaking to each slide, can I reuse the slides from A and B PowerPoint, or do I just make a whole new one...?

I'm confused because this guy basically just recorded himself talking over A&B for slides and called it C.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fp-H-vrzfQc

Any thoughts are most welcome. Thank you in advance.

Had exam this morning and it was prolonged from 1:30 am - 6:50 am. First could not access the proctor page and connect. Spent more than 30 min with Tech support. Once I connected, the proctor was great and understanding and then in the middle of exam-my laptop dies. Could not restart it for the next 15 minutes. Lost connection with Proctor (of course). I Panicked and called tech support again. Same cycle repeated 20-30 minutes of troubleshooting and efforts to connect to proctor again and again I got a great proctor that allowed me to start the exam from where i left off. She saw me stressing and even asked me if I want to go and get the water and relax little. In all that turmoil I had angles guiding me till the end. Not an easy class definitely but still doable. Excel part was piece of cake. Now, I have 3 classes left C207, C211 and Capstone btw I started in April with no business background at all. Good luck to y’all who be taking it soon. May we all graduate with flying colors 👏🏻🙌🏻

Tips: Watch the bootcamp videos. You’ll be relieved on exam.

Start Nov 1st

I’ve been lurking for a few months so I (somewhat) already know what to expect.

I passed the PMP earlier last month thinking I would just go for PM jobs at my current employer but decided to go for the MBA. The PMP knocks out the MGT2, so I got that going for me…

I’ve started viewing the C214 boot camps on Panopto to try and get a leg up on that course when it comes time. I have misophonia and the sound of Dr. V clearing his mucus-y throat every three minutes makes it difficult to focus LOL I gag every time.

WGU MBA transition from education

Hi! I am looking into transitioning out of education and interested in completing an MBA at WGU. All of my experience has been in education and teacher skills are often overlooked. My goal is to get the masters and get into an internship to gain experience and eventually get a job. Has anyone been on the same boat? Or any thought if you have no business background and completed/are working on an MBA?

I Have an OA Proctor question

I took an OA yesterday, and I live in an apartment complex, there were some of my neighbors having loud conversations in the hallway, they were clearly having a long conversation, the proctor never said anything about the noise, I don't know where else to test, I have a very small apartment, I am wondering if this will be an issue. I was not going out there to tell my neighbors to be quiet while I test, any ideas?

The first class I had a take the OA again but knocked it out. The proctor was anal as well which was dumb. I am using a folding table that I’ve used for crafts and my kids color on. She tried to tell me I had a piece of paper under computer. Fuuuuck that!

C214 what does the PA/OA consist of?

I have read that it is in Excel is that correct?
What exactly is on it? Are there word problems like other OA in the program or is it just excel?
Thanks in advance for those who have passed or currently in it to share the experience

Question Greeting ready to take c211 OA a second time.

I am able to pass the PA and did the textbook competency quizzes for retake 2. Is there anything else I should focus on or grind before I take it my second time?

This is the only course I’ve struggled with and it has me a little worried 😟.

214 OA 2nd attempt

For those of you who took the WGU C214 OA a second time, what study resources helped you the most? Was it the Interactive Concept Quizzes- the Excel Quiz, or the end-of-chapter quizzes in the reading material?
I’m preparing for my second attempt and would really appreciate some feedback on which resources were most helpful and where I should focus my studying. I’ve already watched the Boot Camp and ESP videos, but I want to make sure I’m focusing on the right material before retaking the OA.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Question C213 Struggling

I am studying for C213. I’m struggling with the math aspect of this class. I noticed the PA consisted of a lot of math. Was just wondering if the OA is the same. Also if anyone has any tips on how to better prepare for the math sections to this class I would greatly appreciate it!

Some of the stuff I’m struggling with is finding things like total cash flow, overhead, cost of goods sold.

I finally finished!!!

What was supposed to be a 6-month journey turned into an 18-month journey.

While on my journey, I lost my best friend unexpectedly and had to step into God mommy mode in a different capacity while grieving the biggest loss to date. I then ended up having to pay one semester out of pocket due to a simple mistake. And nowww, I’m pregnant with my first biological little one (that first trimester was hell), But I did it!! Wooohoooo!!!

I’m still debating on attending commencement next year because the last time I walked across a stage was for undergrad with my bestie. So bitter-sweet.

Anyway, good luck to all of the future alumni owls! Keep pushing!! You can do hard things!!

MBA Math

I am considering starting the MBA program in December. Those of you who have finished already. How math heavy is this degree. While I am not a mathematical person I do ok in math I want to know so I can prepare myself mentally. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Also for those who completed about how long did it take you? Is 6 months a realistic time line for completion?
