I’m trying to break my lease, so with the cooperation of the landlord we’re looking for a new tenant to take over this lease in Waltham near Brandeis.
$3700/month, water and sewer included.
Washer & Dryer are provided as-is (if they break, you’d have to replace them, but they’ve been working well for as long as I’ve been here).
Kitchen is fairly new and all the appliances work well.
More information and contact to tour available here: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/34-Albert-St-Waltham-MA-02453/56367042_zpid/

I am looking for a place near Waltham that sells good Saltenas, not looking for empanadas. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Looking for suggestions for a place that serves Nashville Hot Chicken in or near Waltham. I used to go to Redbones but figured I'd look for something more local. Thanks in advance!

I’m glad the Waltham Times investigated why 1 Moody remains vacant since Brothers closed, however it doesn’t seem like they were able to get any real info from Northland (the owner) or Roche Brothers.
My guess is it’s a 10-15 year lease with substantial termination fees, and Roche Brothers can’t or won’t get out of it. They may be asking Northland for a break on those fees to exit, and Northland feels they’re getting better rent with a vacant space than re-renting.
Therefore we could be looking at another 5-10 years of prime downtown real estate sitting empty. It really hurts our city to have major vacancies like this.
According to the article, the mayor says a Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods would be ideal candidates for this space. It also sounds like the Charles River Food Co-op is interested. I’d be highly supportive of any of these options.
I hope that the local government can find a way to bring these parties to the table, facilitate the termination of the lease and clear the way for another operator. There has to be some kind of incentive and/or leverage to get Northland and Roche Brothers to do the right thing for the city.

Trying my luck here. I live on South Street by the 99. Amazon delivered my package but that picture is not of my home, nor is it any in the immediate area. I’m hoping anyone that may have got a package in my name sees this

I'm sure there are a few reasons for wanting to keep Veterans rink under agreement. It's pretty central to most of Waltham, and we don't want to lose the parking because it's used for Prospect Hill. But we are a rather large city and ice time is not cheap. Would adding two rinks on Trapelo Rd. whether we keep veterans or not be such a bad idea?

I live in Waltham and have two young kids. Last year we tried to trick or treat in our neighborhood (in the Banks Square area) but there were very few houses with the lights on/giving out candy. I was thinking of going somewhere else this year. Does anyone know of good trick or treat neighborhoods?

This probably sounds like a silly question. I’m not from MA and I don’t know the greater Boston area very well, but I work in Boston and my husband works further northwest so we bought a house in Waltham. It was also one of the only towns where we could actually afford to buy. The school ratings seem fine and the people seem friendly. We feel like it’s in good proximity to things in and out of the city.
So why do people make a face when I say that’s where we live? Locals, help me out!
I’ve asked some of my coworkers but they say things like “I’ve heard Waltham is up and coming” or “Why don’t you move to XYZ?”. What is Waltham’s reputation that I’m missing? Is it just that the schools aren’t as highly rated as some of the neighboring towns, or is there more?

Hi everyone, we have been building and growing capacity slowly. Now we are in a position to ramp up the Collaboratory at the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation to be a key STEM community space. We are starting up our volunteer corps and, as such, are in need of volunteers. One of our goals is to keep the innovation free and accessible to all (unlike most others that require monthly memberships). So if you are interested, please sign up or contact our fantastic Collaboratory manager, Chris Ko, at [chris.ko@charlesrivermuseum.org](mailto:chris.ko@charlesrivermuseum.org). You can also sign up and view the full descriptions of the volunteer positions at the link below.

Has anyone else seen this guy rapping and yelling on Moody near Shoppers?
Dark curly hair. Maybe 20 years old. Tan. He sometimes does it in my driveway setting off my dog while I’m in meetings. I can’t tell if he’s drunk or just an idiot. Last spotted 10/12 at 1:20pm.

Vision Zero is an approach to traffic safety that aims to eliminate traffic deaths and serious injuries. The idea is pretty simple: streets should be designed so that mistakes by drivers, cyclists, or pedestrians don’t end in tragedy.
I’ve been thinking about whether Waltham should adopt Vision Zero. First, I think the mayor and city leadership deserve credit for the progress we’ve seen, especially the rail trail. With new bike lanes and Bluebikes stations planned, plus a ton of new housing being permitted, Waltham is becoming a denser city with more people walking and biking. Seems like a good time to make sure our streets keep up.
Boston, Cambridge, and Somerville have all adopted Vision Zero. Here’s a list of Massachusetts cities and more information:
https://www.visionzerocoalition.org/ma_vision_zero_cities
The Boston Globe also published an opinion piece today about preventable pedestrian deaths in Massachusetts:
https://www.bostonglobe.com/2026/10/11/opinion/pedestrian-deaths-massachusetts/
I’m not suggesting Waltham is doing everything wrong or that this needs to be anti-car. I just think that as the city grows and invests in walking and biking infrastructure, it makes sense to have a broader plan for keeping people safe. That could mean safer crosswalks, better lighting, traffic calming, and identifying dangerous intersections.
Would people be interested in pushing the city to explore a Vision Zero commitment? If there’s enough interest, we could bring the idea to city leadership.

Hey everyone! I’m a local personal trainer working in Newtonville!
I’m curious, what’s your biggest struggle when it comes to fitness? Finding time, staying consistent, or knowing what to do in the gym?
Happy to answer any questions or share some advice!

Anyone women in their late 20s want to watch football with me 😅? I don't want to go to a sports bar and be the only girl there! I also don't understand all the rules and plays whatever but know enough to keep a conversation going.
I'm more 70% watching the game and 30% eating/drinking/chatting.

More on the photo at the end.
I’ve been dying to try it because I love BBQ and have missed Bison County since it closed. I wanted to live it so much.
It was meh.
I ordered the pork belly burnt ends. They were ok and thought the serving size of 5 was a little small. I got the traditional sauce and it was good. I got spicy slaw and it’s as advertised, spicy! I also got French fries and they weren’t hot, barely warm. My wife got the burnt ends. I forget the name of the sauce she got, but it was so good! The burnt ends themselves were cold though. They were sitting for a bit. She loved the mashed potatoes. Also, the food was a little slow to come out. They’re still new, so maybe they’re working out the kinks.
The picture I’ve posted really pissed me off! Why am I supposed to buy your fully paid kitchen staff a round of drinks? They are making a fair wage and I’ve already tipped my server and then you want me to buy your staff a round of drinks?? That’s your job to do at the end of the night, not mine. It’s enough to make me not want to go back!
We’ll probably give it another shot, but we won’t be rushing back anytime soon.
