Winds of Nowhere [Istanbul, Türkiye]

We are an atmospheric melodic black/death metal band, and heavily influenced by Dissection, Wintersun, Moonsorrow, Agalloch, Immortal, Alcest, etc. Our songs are usually long, very melodic and atmospheric, and with a lot of mood changes.

Here is our debut album on Black Metal Promotion Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBCZfgTV1tA

Bandcamp: https://windsofnowhere.bandcamp.com/album/winds-of-nowhere

Very nice atmosphere on the intro and I really like how it works it's way back in later on in the track. Might be because I've not listened to any BM in a while but the guitar is generally playing quite simple stuff not necessarily a bad thing but it didn't feel like it comed together properly until the synths come in or when the tremolo picking style comes in on the track. Otherwise I think it's a really great track well probably check the album out later on

u/WindsOfNowhere 13d ago

Thank you a lot for your comments. Hopefully you'll like the album.

u/HeptagonMusic666 13d ago

Yep, this is all around good black metal. Vocals and instrumentation is on point and the production is crisp! Also, you've chosen a really good painting for the album cover. Cheers!

Original Barbershop-Style Arrangement of "Les Champs-Élysée" performed only by me.

u/HeptagonMusic666 13d ago

I can't even express how happy this makes me to hear this version. This is one of my favorite traditional songs.

1

u/thht80 12d ago

Wow! Thank you so much!

1

u/themaskedproducer 13d ago

Cool performance main question I have is: is this just you singing each part of the piece, or have you written any of the harmonisation you're doing? If you're going any amount of improv in there and it's still harmonising then you're wasted doing covers - probably more a personal preference but I think it would be much cooler to hear what a baroque pop album would sound like with you at the head of it

2

u/thht80 13d ago

Thanks for the compliment.

There is no improv involved at all. I wrote the original arrangement: https://de.sheetmusicdirect.com/se/ID_No/2240811/Product.aspx

And what you see is basically a music video. The audio was recorded previously in multiple takes and processed as usual, including comping, tuning and fixing timing.

1

u/themaskedproducer 13d ago

I'd love to hear what stuff you could do in the psychedelic or baroque pop sounds, that shit would be eternally beautiful honestly

1

u/thht80 13d ago

Ok... Could you point me to some references? I honestly have no idea what that would sound like...

3

u/themaskedproducer 13d ago

Here's my faves in the genre: the beach boys - Pet Sounds, the zombies - oracle and oddysey, and the smoke's self titled

But anything in that style where you've got an orchestral backing and layered vocal melodies you'd hit out the park I reckon

I dig the intro and production on this. Making a whole album is a lot of hard work. Congrats!

This was pretty dope. Production holds up and the voice sound good. Good effort. How is the streaming going?

Would love to hear what you think of my new track. It’s called slow down and seems to be the word of 2026 so I’m satisfied with the coincidence. Fuck A I

I make vibey, dark, southern indie with electronic instruments mixed in. Artistically, I try to get a solid vibe across, tell a story with imagery, write the best songs that I can and get better as I do it. I primarily use traditional instruments and hardware synths and effects. I make all my music in a bedroom studio and mix it all myself. I go by Earnest Goes to Heaven and I appreciate it deeply when anyone checks out my stuff. I am posting the links in the body to give options. I am sending out stickers to people who buy my tracks on bandcamp or follow me on socials.

Ahoy, I haven’t posted a track here in a quite a while. Still releasing music into the void monthly.

This one was made with my latest guitar – an Ibanez hollow body. It has flatwound strings, which is where the track title came from.

The cover is drawn by my 9-year-old daughter, Elise. Also, to be clear, this track is 100% produced by me. No AI, ever.

Take a trip from Nashville to Bristol and back, with this trip hop flavoured track, Flatwound – out now on everything.

Here’s a couple:

Producer and developer here. I’ve been building mote, a macOS app for people whose sample libraries have grown beyond useful file names and structures.

It listens to the one-shots you already own, sorts them by sound and character, and lets you describe the kind of 16-pad kit you want in your own words. The samples stay on your Mac. No external AI inference.

This first short shows 63,226 real samples being analysed and organised:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/QHZWy6SvTuQ

I’m still preparing the beta, so I’m especially interested in how other producers currently search large sample libraries. Do you rely on folders, file names, tags, similarity search, or mostly memory?

Disclosure: I’m the founder and developer.

2

u/YungLeechProd 8d ago

This is actually really cool. I try my best to label files clearly but this would help so many people who ignore it or get too many samples before they start doing maintenance

1

u/themaskedproducer 13d ago

It's not bad at all so don't take this the wrong way but this doesn't have hardly enough drama to be epic music it's actually a lot more similar to ambient music but the problem there is that it's not focused enough on tembre and texture which is like a major aspect of ambient music. I'd say if you want to make epic music, study some more classical esp the stuff from Beethoven and Bach who are both drama lords (where Mozart is also, he does like lullaby stuff as well, which is obviously not epic or grandiose), and if you are interested in the ambient side, listen to the specific instruments used, the way they're played, what size room etc. And play around with that stuff to make a soundscape rather than a piece. Interested in what direction you take it next

2

u/Phantastrax 13d ago

People always mistake epic music to be the same as dramatic trailer music, but it's a much broader genre. It can also be happy or ambient, the main properties being intensity and emotional depth. That being said, while disagreeing with your definition of epic music, thank you for listening and for your elaborate comment!

0

u/themaskedproducer 13d ago

A concept like genre is defined by people, so if people are all agreeing that epic music is cinematic classical music generally with electric production and bombastic moments then that is what it comes to mean

u/Gold-Room-1201 13d ago

Right, a fast paced, EDM track (I can’t really place my finger on the genre, I went for digicore, but that clearly did not happen, so I just call the style Adora) - https://youtu.be/DtWreXQQDbE?si=5Qj7eY4SG6PEHQGQ

Hello! My name is Cameron, and I released an indie folk album last friday.

Here’s a little blurb about the inspiration/concept about the album:
By the time I began writing the first song in the project in the fall of 2022, during a particularly tempestuous time in my life, one semester was left until I graduated. I had just exited an unhealthy, codependent relationship and distanced from the social circle I had known for a couple years as a result. As I unfortunately have a tendency to do – I isolated in my need to create things that represent in full my thoughts and feelings about my experience. I had a vision to represent the concept of my songwriting and emotional process in and of itself: a music album where the subject was the nodes of my persistence through loss, betrayal, solitude, and newfound love, as analyzed through a hopeful, healing lens. As I continued adding to the pot, the more I felt human. I realized much of what I’m attempting to convey is what many of us probably want to say. I realized I had come full circle: from being inspired by art in a way I trust that I can be more myself and a better me, to creating art that serves as a mirror, showing that any one person’s experience is indeed representative of the soul. And so I invite you to experience the acceleration of life and blood; the product of extreme pressure, tunnel vision, necessary primordial reconstitution of the human psyche and inevitable actualization: Lifeblood Sandbox.

Hey WATMM! I built TonaliQ (tonaliq.app), a private AI studio partner for self-producing artists who work solo and want feedback, advice, or more understanding of how to do certain things.

It doesn't auto-generate audio, mix your tracks, or score your music. Instead, it acts as a conversational producer to help you figure out what to work on next.

If you’re sitting on unfinished projects and need a second set of ears to bounce ideas off of, give it a try! Would love any feedback from fellow producers. https://tonaliq.app/

u/geowondermusic 10d ago

I’m Geo Wonder, and this is my song “Haunted Ride.”
With this one, I wanted the atmosphere to carry as much weight as the pop side of the track, so it lives in a darker, more theatrical space.

LyricLike - a free lyric pad for the writing side of your songs.

I made it to reduce friction in the songwriting process. It counts syllables, labels your rhyme scheme, and finds rhymes when you tap a word. No it doesn't AI generate lyrics!

Release Forge is the Indie Artists release desk that centralises metadata, splits and collaborators. Not a Disti. Not a PRO. Forge it once, release it everywhere!

Created by an indie artist who had a headache trying to keep up with the admin of releasing monthly. Independent, secure and built to grow with you.

Hey, I'm Bas, a producer from the Netherlands. I made The Vocal Market, a platform where singers sell their vocals to producers. It's mostly electronic music, a lot of house, and there are over 750 vocals on there now.

You buy a vocal and you can release your track with it anywhere, as many tracks as you want, and you keep what your track makes. Most are between 20 and 32 euro. You can also buy one exclusive, or hire a vocalist for something custom.

It's just me building it, so if you check it out and something's confusing I'd like to hear it, I'm open to any feedback or suggestions :)

I’ve been building NEXRYFT, a project focused on instrumental music made around gaming — cinematic, Liquid DnB, dark fantasy, metal and atmospheric stuff.
I recently put together a longer DnB compilation if anyone wants something to leave running while gaming / working:
35-Minute Cinematic Drum & Bass Compilation Vol. 1
https://youtu.be/WliseLc3N5k
Still a pretty new project, so any genuine feedback is welcome too.

u/PitchTempoProUser 8d ago

I run Pitch Tempo, a free tool for finding an audio file's key/BPM and changing its pitch or tempo: https://pitch-tempo.online/

Say you've got a backing track that's a little too fast to practice with. Set tempo to 80% and leave pitch at 0: a steady 120 BPM track becomes 96 BPM in the same key. You can preview the opening 20 seconds, then download the full result.

It works with uploaded files up to 5 minutes and 100 MB. Guests get 3 uploads per 24 hours; processing happens on our server. Key/BPM readings are estimates, so check them by ear.

If you try it with a practice track or sample, I'd be interested in what worked and what got in your way.

Hey everyone! I sing and play guitar in The Urban Tales, and we just released a song called “Breeze” today.

It sits somewhere between atmospheric alternative rock, shoegaze and post-rock, starting quietly and gradually building into a heavy finale. Caspian and Deafheaven’s Infinite Granite were big influences on this one.

If that sounds like your thing, give it a listen — I’d love to hear what you think.

JoySynth – Make Music With a Game Controller (Windows & Android)

Hey everyone! I've been developing JoySynth, a synthesizer and music workstation that lets you create full songs using a game controller.

Instead of a traditional keyboard, you use the analog sticks and buttons to play notes, chords, switch octaves, and blend between instruments.

It includes:

  • 40+ synth presets with FM synthesis and effects
  • Custom instruments and samples
  • Drum sequencer and patterns
  • Multitrack recording and song arrangement
  • WAV and MP3 export
  • Windows and Android support

I recently released a major update, and there's now a free demo available to try before buying.

🎮 Download / Free Demo: https://erpolley.itch.io/joysynth

🌐 Website: https://ericpolley.com/joysynth

I'd love to hear what other music makers think of the controller-based approach!

Made a free-to-try app for band charts and setlists, looking for feedback from working bands.

Our charts lived in Google Docs and our setlists in group chats, and it caused a mistake at roughly every gig. I'm a developer as well as a keyboard player, so I built something for it.

One copy of each chart, readable in your own key, with edits saved. Setlists with sets and breaks. A stage mode that works offline and turns pages from a foot pedal. Rehearsal dates that come from everyone's days off.

Free and open source software, with an option to pay for hosting. 30 days free, then $24 a year for the whole band. There's a demo with a fake band at bandstand.info.

u/Mylesdebastion 7d ago

Hi everyone! I made Pixelsynth, a free synth for iPhone and iPad. It has 16 playable pads and eight colorful sound controls on one screen. You can widen a control to see the waveform, filter, envelope or LFO shape as you change what you hear.
https://youtu.be/TGqRz3uSzYA?si=eTyQBL3GtSoB-7cP

Visual feedback is central to Pixelsynth. I’m a Deaf musician, and I wanted shaping a sound to feel as immediate to the eye as it does to the ear.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pixelsynth-auv3-visual-synth/id6804130647

Pixelsynth works standalone and includes an AUv3 instrument for compatible hosts.
I’d love to hear from anyone who tries it in Loopy Pro or another host. How does it feel to play and control in your setup? What would make it more useful there?

P.S. If you enjoy Pixelsynth, I also made Pixelboop, a separate step sequencer for building musical patterns: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pixelboop-make-music-visually/id6758214168

Hello friends.

I have been working on a music ecosystem for everyone like us to use for about 1.5 years. It has come a long way and has changed quite a bit.
Patches started as a marketplace for patches, presets, impulse responses and other digital tools for musicians, but it’s grown into something much bigger.

This week I’ve been working heavily on Groups.

The idea is to give musicians communities built around the things they actually care about — specific gear, artists, genres, recording, production, songwriting, tone, etc.

So you could have communities for TONEX players, Helix users, home studio owners, 80’s hair metal, Van Halen, mixing & mastering, or just about anything musicians want to build a community around. You could even extend this group (would love to have you :)

What I’m trying to do differently is connect all of it.

A group shouldn’t just be a discussion board. The patches, presets, videos, creators, gear and conversations inside that community should all connect to the rest of the platform.

Patches is still early, and that's actually why I'd love to have some of you check it out now. I’m building this with musicians, not just for them. So I encourage feedback, don't hesitate to contact me directly on Patches.

If you run a music community — or there’s one you’ve always wished existed — you can create your own Group too.

https://patches-usa.com

I’d genuinely love feedback, especially on Groups. Tell me what you like, what you don’t, or what would make you actually want to use it.

I appreciate the opportunity to share this with you all. Go easy on me we are still new :)
Wally
