Hanging Christmas lights or shoveling snow for your neighbors maybe?

Probably does not scale well. There are already bunches of big services to complete with on large scale. But for local neighborhood areas probably fine.

Well this is a 17 year old he can't really start an LLC, and most people already have the equipment for it. His other option is probably a part time job. Retail is hiring seasonal help this time of year I suppose.

true, he probably can grow as big as one young person could.

Logic is not sound - other companies have already scaled in this industry so no one else can? That just proves there’s demand and in contractor/service industries you can always do better from a customer relationship and communication perspective.

I knew a tweaker in maryland who made bank every time there was a snowstorm just by putting his number on a craigslist ad the night before every major storm. It's not impossible.

They average 3 feet of snow in iowa.

Im guessing most people dont do it by hand

Three feet per storm? That seems excessive and I live in New England.

It's one of those things where up north a foot or so is not surprising but four inches down south is a big deal. I don't know where Maryland falls on that scale.

I feel like shoveling is your best bet. There’s a lot of people who would pay more than you’d think for you to handle that for them

Truck and a snow plow if you want to go bigger. Every year I think about the handful of trucks and plows in my southern town killing it from r 48 hours to move snow.

Be free and creative, what are your interests? Maybe you can draw or maybe paint and the. Maybe put up holiday art on store windows. Maybe you can cook one thing really well like holiday cakes maybe you can sell that. You can s see if stores are trying put out holiday flyers . These are just basic stuff I’m sure you can find something that interests you, there also YouTube’s videos of actual ppl doing the side gigs.

This is actually super true I bet selling baked goods would go well this time of year. I have a coworker who sells decorated cookies for holiday parties, and she makes some good money but she's also damn good at decorating the cookies.

Window painting for the holidays if you're any good at artistic stuff. Templates can help but freehanding is better.

This is mainly for smaller stores that want stuff like snowmen or reindeer, snowflakes, Christmas lights painted on, etc.

Driver helpers for deliveries. I believe ups and possibly FedEx hire for this. Work usually dies off shortly after xmas, but there's good money to be made.

Clean businesses windows with a squeegee and a bucket. I’m sure there are more supplies needed but not too expensive.
