Would a mobile dog exercise service be useful in White Rock?

Hi everyone! I’m Roberto, a local dog owner preparing to launch The Dog Jog, a mobile dog treadmill service for BC communities.

The service is intended for dogs that need more exercise than their owners can always provide, especially during rainy weather, busy workweeks, or when long walks are difficult.

I’m currently trying to understand which Lower Mainland & surrounding communities would benefit most. Would you consider using a service like this? If so, what would matter most to you: convenience, managing a high-energy dog, dependable exercise during bad weather, or something else?

This is just local research, not a sales post. I’d genuinely appreciate your thoughts.

I personally wouldn't use this service. If for some reason I wasn't able to exercise my dog, I'd rather him go to a dog day care - and many places already offer pick up and drop off. Or id hire a dog walker.

The weather isn't much of an issue - if the dog dislikes bad weather (cold, rainy, too hot, etc) then there are already indoor spaces to exercise at dog day cares. Or, owners just wait for a better weather window.

I don't see what problems a treadmill could solve that other services haven't already solved.

You might get more feedback posting this on the facebook group instead

No. This city is walkable and lots of parks available so I wouldn’t say the need is there. There are also a lot of condos that don’t allow larger dogs so I don’t think your market is 10 lb dogs that the grannies own

You can post on Small Business Sundays in the Facebook community groups.

I wonder if this service would have more traction in areas of high density housing where it may be difficult to exercise dogs (letting them run).

Maybe post in a surrey sub

I think it would be a good idea. White Rock has a lot of wealthy seniors who can’t walk their dogs enough. I would concentrate your efforts on all the high rises in the center of town.

I also came here to mention that there are a lot of wealthy seniors here who may not physically be able to walk their dogs as much as is needed and could benefit from this. (And have the disposable income for it) I would post on the community fb pages and see what traction you get!
