In Good Company Male Drivers are the worst!

Sorry but how did women get the name of bad drivers ?? Because I am sick to death of mainly male drivers, who just make up their own rules of the road. Speeding, driving hardshoulders, dtiving wrong lanes to skip a que.

The last one has been driving me particularly mad as of late lol I have had a couple close call with people using incorrect lanes to skip the que who then have nearly hit me and others because they are jumping in or forcing themselves back into lanes! I know women do this too and its just as shitty, but ive mainly seen it be done by men! So I cant understand for the life of me why we get the bad name when theyre just as bad if not worse!! Thank you for coming to my ted talk!

Fashion and Beauty Bra Fitting Shops

Hello! Does anyone have experience using the bra fitting service in Arnotts?

If so, are they using the +4 method? I've been trying to find my ABTF / BOB size for months and would love to get a proper fitting in person not using the outdated +4 method.

I'll be in Dublin next week and am hoping to make the most of it for this mission.

Apologies if this has been asked before , I did do a search here but didn't see anything.

Thank you 😊

I've woken up hungry. Eaten food. STILL frigging hungry!!

It's probably period induced hunger but I'm like a feral snack goblin today. And none of the snacks I like are in the house and SOD getting dressed up to go outside...urgh.

Fashion and Beauty Hair ties advice

I am not sure if this is the tallest of tall orders 😂

But is there a hair tie that exists that is thin like those plastic hair elastics that won’t snap easily but also don’t snag on hair? I have ALOT of hair but it’s actually thin and I really want to do (for example) those small space buns using the upper half of my hair but the hair tie I use for all my hair is too thick to use for this. I hope that makes sense.

Does something like this exist here?

Sincerely a woman who just wants to do something different with her hair that isn’t a plain ponytail or the lame attempt of a messy bun 😂

Chat and Craic Sunday Scaries is here - share your worries and allow your mind be cleared!

As suggested in our recent feedback thread, this is your weekly space to rant and vent before the week even begins especially if you’re already exhausted by a week that hasn’t started yet.

If the dread is starting to creep in about the week ahead, work, appointments, emails life responsibilities or just the general ugh of it all.. This is the place to dump it.

Say what you’re worried about, what you’re overthinking or what you’re really not bothered dealing with tomorrow. No judgement, no advice unless you ask for it. Just get it off your chest so you can properly switch off and enjoy a bit of rest before Monday rolls back around.

Only rule: keep it respectful and within the subreddit rules.

Career and Education Imposter syndrome

Hi

Any older and wiser women on here like to share how they got over imposter-syndrome. I have a really really bad case of it, always have. I’m at the very beginning of my career. I love my job but I’m not meeting the challenges and hours I need to progress in my career. I see job applications for a better position but every time I go to hit the submit button, I over think everything. How I’m not ready or good enough.

So how did any of you get over this ?

Fashion and Beauty Affordable lash extensions in Dublin suggestions!

Going to Brazil in a month and would like to get my lashes done without breaking the bank. Saw some places charging €90+ and that’s kind of obscene. Ideally near the city centre would be great :-)

Fashion and Beauty New short haircut and spots.

Has anyone any good product recommendations for styling short hair that won’t cause me to have pimple and blocked pores on my forehead and hairline?

I recently got all my hair cut into a very short pixie cut and it needs a styling clay to keep it under control.
I’ve gone from no spots to a full forehead of pimples and blocked pores in 2 weeks.

I need a product to style my hair has anyone found any that don’t cause these breakouts?

I wash my face in the morning and night. Don’t wear make up and just use a moisturiser with SPF.
Any other tips on how to stop the spots would be appreciated too!

Thank you!

In Good Company being honest about past in a relationship? TW

remove if not suitable for sub

i’m in a new relationship and my first serious one. it’s going slow but steady but the only thing i’m dreading is the topic of sex/intimacy. i’ve dealt with abuse as a child and sometimes i go through periods where even thinking about sex is very difficult, but other times i’m all up for it

how do i approach this topic with my partner? DO i bring this up? it’s not something i’ve even fully come to terms with in my own head. i want to be open and honest with my partner but i don’t want to deter them or frighten them.

This is your safe space to have a moan, blow off steam and let it all out judgement free.. so you can head into the weekend feeling lighter.

Only rule: keep it respectful and within the subreddit rules.

Have your rant, then go enjoy your Friday!

Fashion and Beauty Need help with dressing for the weather while being comfortable

Hey everyone, I really need advice on dressing (and maybe hygiene)

I commute to college every day (five days a week), which means walking for at least more than 20 minutes a day. Lately I noticed that I get really hot and uncomfortable only after walking for about 7 minutes. The heat starts from my back, then my arms, then my chest and sometimes my neck. It's worse when the weather is cold because that's when I'm wearing a jacket/zip-up hoodie and a fitted long-sleeve top. Sometimes I even avoid moisturizing my arms when I'm wearing a fitted long-sleeve top because then my arms start to sweat a bit and my top feels damp. I also sweat between my thighs, which I really hate. I usually wear joggers at the bottom (especially right now, as my jeans don't fit anymore). I'm also going in and out of rooms that vary in temperature (some rooms are warm and others cold)

I've been looking to change my wardrobe from fitted long-sleeve tops to loose-fitting tops and maybe get a lighter raincoat/jacket (I found some loose-fitting tops on NEXT). I'm also looking to get looser jeans and maybe boxer tights for the sweating between the thighs; I don't know if that'll help.

I'm on the pill, which can make me hot and nauseous, especially at night, so maybe that's the reason. I don't really know when this issue started, so I can't say if it began when I started taking the pill or before.

I've gained some weight over summer, and I'm kind of busty for the height of 4'11 (I think), and I'd usually wear a sports bar; I'm looking to change to wearing a bra that fits me because that might be contributing to the heat.

I'm laying all this information down so you know the background and just so you understand where I'm coming from. I kind of feel like I'm overreacting, but the heat makes me very uncomfortable, especially with commuting.

I really need your help, and if I'm overreacting, do tell me because I feel like I'm going crazy over this. And also let me know if I'm going in the right direction concerning the solutions I've brought up. And sorry if this reads all over the place because that's how my mind is right now.

Travel Advice Gift ideas for Irish girl living in Australia

I will be traveling to Australia soon to see my cousin who is half Irish, living in Australia for about 12 years. I’m stuck at what to give her as a gift! She has been incredibly supportive throughout all my life including very traumatic events. I’m eternally grateful for her. So I really want to give her something that she will actually enjoy. Please hit me with ideas! What are the things, or beauty brands you cannot find in Australia but can in Ireland? She is big into beauty, fragrance, or beauty tools etc

PS: I read the rules, seems like I can post this in here, but if not, please do let me know!

Thank you!

Personal Stories Sick parent

I just returned from 14 months of mat leave to a job I started 7 months before going on leave. It still feels like a new job.

My mum however had been diagnosed with melanoma 2.5 years ago and we found out this week that her treatment (she is now stage 4) hasn’t work. There has been talk about clinical trials etc but we are not sure what is to come.

Naturally this has really affected my performance in work and in struggling a lot. My confidence isn’t great at the best of times and now I just feel stuck. Do I need to tell work what is going on?
