Anti-Zionism. What is it in practice?

Many people seem to be missing the basic point that anti-Zionism is an ideology that opposes the existence of the state of Israel in any form. In fact, it is the only ideology in the world that actively opposes the existence of an entire state.

In practice, it is the most violent antisemitic ideology since Nazism. Allied with Nazism in its early days, anti-Zionism in its current practical form seeks to eradicate Jews from their historic homeland, which is not coincidentally the refuge for half the world’s Jews today.

Anti-Zionism was responsible for the displacement, ethnic cleansing of 800,000+ Jews in the Arab world, and uses Palestinian Arabs as the tips of their spear to wage perpetual war against Jews.

If you think I’m wrong, I’d love to hear your explanation as to why white neo-Nazis are now shouting ‘Free Palestine’ at their marches?

fr. it's sad to see how many people aren't calling it out.

Etymologically, it’s the fundamental opposition to Jewish self determination.

In practice, it’s rabid antisemitism, or treason if a Jew subscribes to it.

Anti-Zionism, in practice, is saying that Jews should just trust their safety, freedom, and self-determination to states where they live in, rather than having those things guaranteed by a state (Israel) that guarantees the well-being of the Jewish people.

Anyone with even a basic knowledge of Jewish history will understand why that's a bad idea.

Salonica was a great place for the Jews, until it wasn't. Baghdad was a great place for the Jews, until it wasn't. How much longer until Paris, London, and New York are added to that list isn't a hypothetical for most Jews.

London and Paris have both been on that list previously (though in the UK at least some schools teach it: https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/education/teaching-resources/jews-in-england-in-1290/), so it wouldn't be at all surprising.

NYC? Mamdani alone proves that it's no safe haven.

Don't forget American Nazis storming into proto-Marvel's office over Captain America #1.

It didn't end well for them, but still.

I'm afraid I can't remember something I hadn't heard about in the first place! Not being American that's a new one on me.

I shall look it up.

??? Antizionism is an explicit call for the dismantling of Israel, the only Jewish state. If you think those racists care what happens to the Israeli Jews (or any Jews for that matter) when this happens I have a bridge to siberia to sell you lol.

In today's world, anti-Zionism means seeking a one state solution. With or without Jews living in that state, but certainly not ruling it.

If we were 'permitted' to continue living in that state, it's unlikely we'd be there very long.

That's the uncomfortable step 2 anti-Zionists rarely address in public.

They simply do not care. They seem to think Israeli Jews deserve to die or be forcibly removed to make this 1 state. They don't live in reality and i find it fascinating they think they're the good people presenting good ideas

Well, that's a strain of it anyways. Plenty of antizionist folks happy to scream "go back to Poland" to us. The ideology does encompass a very large segment of people who want us ethnically cleansed

By one state solution, they’re actually referring to one Arab state…

Jews living. With the right to self determination. Sorry that upsets you.

I put together a summary here https://www.reddit.com/u/TacticalSniper/s/baMLsDy0oh

To sum up though, it's racism.

Exactly. I am constantly calling these folks racist rather than antisemitic because they can't wrap their fake antiracist heads around it.

Agreed. Antisemitism is just a type of racism. Reddit also set a very low bar for itself - as long as they're not calling for full extermination of Jews they call themselves not racist, even though this would not pass for any other ethnic or religious group.

Denying Jews right of self-determination is racism, as outlined by the UN.
