Elon was so ahead of the game firing people by how many lines of code they write. Just think in another year every engineer will be doing 1000 commits per day because more lines of code = value

As a SWE, I am definitely seeing the speedup. We are moving incredibly fast. Just yesterday I was able to improve the performance of a subsystem by 5x with a goal running for an hour. Software is about to become incredible.

I am not a software engineer and I notice how I am interacting more and more with software I built myself. Some stuff I would have bought but mostly stuff I would have just never had.
The idea we are still using these concepts from assembly line widget output is kind of bizarre. Especially in terms of "proving" something as not happening.
It is like I get in a car, drive to a store that would have been too far to walk to. Then when I get back I look at the step count on my fitbit and conclude the car hardly increases my ability to walk.

It’s so funny when people tell me that there’s no productivity improvement. I’m developing a video game, and the literal AAA quality features i’ve been producing on in the last two weeks that took me years to develop and mostly failed at on my own is insane. I’m a one man team producing content to the level of a 10 man experienced dev team right now.
