People really need to larp on bible just to defend their "beliefs or how marriage should work" but they're more like hating women and wanted to submit them but that's not what bible said from what I remember, this is not how it works but husbands should also respect their wives

In any world religion women are subordinates to men. Bible is not exclusive. Even Buddhist communities don’t allow nuns to higher up positions 🙄 though originally Buddha was all about equality and eternal love for all

Yes however in most of these religions you can find parts that contradict this order. There is subjugation written into it but there’s also conflicting messages. Most of this sort of guy ignore any messages that conflict with the submission idea because they want to demean and control their partner.

Don’t know why I’m getting downvoted. Relgion is absolutely used as a tool for oppression. I was just pointing out that people also cherry pick lines that fit that desire for subjugation the best and ignore those that might challenge it as most religions have contradictory messages throughout to my knowledge.

I think it’s because the presence of contradictory teachings don’t erase the misogynistic ones that make it possible to cherry pick in the first place.

Oh no for sure, that’s why I’m not a fan of religion myself. I was trying to make a point that both the misogynistic interpretations and the ones that aren’t are both grounded in scripture but these types would never accept that an instead push the idea that inequality is the real “divine” model
