But one was a communist and one a socialist... are they studying what happens when alternatives to capitalism are practiced?

Under Hitler, Germany privatized more than the western capitalist nations... Nazis added National Socialist into the name to attract more people. They were never socialist, in anything. The party was funded by wealthy capitalists.

The question remains tho. What would they debate? Marx was an economist. Hitler was a failed painter and WWI veteran. He didn't understand the economy at all.

Exactly! Glad to see people dont fall for that anymore! If only they applied this lesson to today's politics; its not because a party is named "democratic" that it is democratic, or "liberal" that it is liberal

It says “the debate on modern capitalism” in the thumbnail

u/Usakami is debunking the false claim that Hitler was a socialist.

Hitler was a politician though, and even if morally speaking he's an abomination he was very good at leading his country. They could argue about politics in general

Hitler was not a socialist

He was head of the national socialist workers party, that eventually became the Nazi

You can literally google if hitler was socialist or not

You can also extensively study WW2 and the rise of socialism in Germany following WW1. Sometimes a simple google doesnt give you the full picture or accurate information, especially if you base it on the AI overview result lol

You don’t need to extensively study to find that hitler wasn’t a socialist

And the leasing historians who have studied the history of Germany are what? Posers?

Why does Hitler look like an old school cumbia DJ and Marx looks like a gay brewery owner

u/Starro_The_Janitor1 4h ago

Wouldn’t it make more sense for it to be Mussolini or Giovanni Gentile since Communism is the brainchild of Marx and Engels and for Fascism it’s Mussolini and Gentile? I guess that wouldn’t be as popular a video but still.
