Lol, I was wondering if they would pop up here, this is gold. I can't have a decent debate with any of these guys because there so stuck in this endless Trump loop but have no idea whats going on.

You can’t reason people out of a position they didn’t reason themselves into, unfortunately. Redhats are literally more prone to believing disinformation, easier to dupe, refuse to acknowledge reality…. It really is a crazy fucking cult. I have no idea how we’re gonna deal with this shit after T-bag finally kicks the bucket. Because these people will still be out there.

Christians, not all, but a good amount, actively discourage critical thinking. They're an Apocalypse cult and if they allowed thinking even a bit, people would see past the bullshit.

Ya... tell me again how Obama was the Antichrist but this walking bag of "sin" is the 2nd coming..

whoever Trump christens as his heir will probably get the idolization handed over to them. Or it'll just go patrilineally to the first-born son.

I believe that we are witnessing the start of an actual religion, a la Paul Atreides from the Dune books. Maybe it won't even matter WHAT trump says or who he nominates to be his heir, his followers will just choose one and worship him, claiming that he has taken up the mantle in Donald's stead.

When he goes, the red hats will be like going crazy, they won't know where or what to do.

Their source of "news" isn't news, so any discussion is an endless stream of bullshit vs you trying to use facts to make a point.

I am ashamed to share the same town as these people.

I think they should go back into the woods for a while.

Luckily, these people aren't what I interact with on a day to day basis.

Still, never felt so embarrassed.

u/Poker-Junk 1d ago

Same 😣

u/Timbo-AK 1d ago

These people definitely aren't representative of Wasilla, as I'm sure tons of people from all over the state showed up, but it's wild to see them all together.

The ignorance is wild/fascinating.

37

u/fruttypebbles kotz 2d ago

Right of the bat. 1st guy wants people from the lower 48 to stay there. Next month he will vote for one of those people in the senate race.

2

u/Hopeful-Horse6238 1d ago

He moved to Wasilla in the 1980s or 90s for oil is my bet.

I really struggle not to get melancholy and cynical when I see this type of shit. There is just zero critical thinking amongst a large portion of the population. This might be centered around MAGA but it's true in all demos. Our education system is a failure, and not at the fault of educators but we the people who have allowed it to become what it is today. As a German immigrant to the states, my mother always drilled into my head how easy it is for nefarious people to lead the masses into supporting atrocities. I always wondered how normal, decent people, could be led to such horrors. I have zero doubt that at least 1/3 of the country would be completely fine with sending any and all Muslims into camps. Zero doubt. And most of those people probably make decent neighbors and can be nice people. We are truly fucked for the foreseeable future.

Oh, yea, verily. Humans conform with immediate social pressures, even when doing so goes against their moral codes and what they otherwise know to be true. Even over issues so trivial as whether two lines on a piece of paper are the same length, when they obviously are not. When people are genuinely on the low end of the bell curve in intelligence in addition to that innate need to conform, there is little cause for hope that collectively we will survive ourselves.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asch_conformity_experiments

In repeat controlled experiments, one-third of the people conformed to wrong choices and answers knowing those answers were wrong, and three-quarters of the subjects did the same at least once. Only a quarter of the people never conformed. Solomon Asch would say of the results of his experiments: "That intelligent, well-meaning young people are willing to call white black is a matter of concern."

This is not consciously learned. We're social animals, and our very survival depends on the group around us. We have other needs for acceptance and freedom from scorn and humiliation that are extremely powerful.

u/alexiwolf54 2d ago

I'm hoping the Aliens will wipe us put. I feel better about that scenario.

4

u/gnostic_savage 2d ago

We don't need them! We've got this!

An asteroid sounds really good to me, but I suspect we've made our environmental bed and we're going to lie in it. At least for a short time.

It's so tragic in the Greek tragedy sense. More intelligence or more moral decency would have prevented what we're facing, but we had neither. Oh, well.

u/DeltaShadowSquat 2d ago

Don’t look up!

2

u/Akchika 1d ago

Agree about all except optimistic on the last sentence. I hope we can turn this around.

4

If that’s not a maga icon, I don’t know what is.

57

u/Zippier92 2d ago

Carlin said the average American is a moron. And we’ve gotten more stupid since then.

43

u/Gravity-Rides 2d ago

What he actually said is: “think about how stupid the average person is, and then remember 50% of them are stupider than that.”

2

u/DoughvaQueen 1d ago

I am reminded of this all the time in healthcare alone, then I see these interviews and im like....we're cooked.

9

u/AKchaos49 Kushtaka! Kushtaka! KushtakAAHHHHH!!!!! 2d ago

Carlin said "Look at how stupid the average person is, then realize, half of them are stupider than that!"

15

u/gnostic_savage 2d ago

OMG!! OMG!!! This is so painful to watch. I'm so glad I didn't go there to protest. I might have come home with demon attachments and a significantly lowered IQ.

I so much appreciate Davram coming to Alaska, but I do have to say that he's a tad overdressed. It's cute.

5

u/Apostle-Dunghill 2d ago

Painful.

6

u/gnostic_savage 2d ago

Cringe painful. It fills me with even more despair for humanity, and I was already chock full of it.

1

u/Apostle-Dunghill 1d ago

Funny that you should mention demon attachments…….

“And next thing you know I’m like flat on my back, and she’s like going crazy and I thought that she was, uh, possessed,” he said in the video. “Once she stopped, I was like, ‘What the f\ck is happening?’ The door burst open, and there’s Berkley and he said, ‘What the f*ck is going on here,’ and I’m like, ‘I don’t know but she’s possessed, and I just came in here to get my check and, uh, I’m trying to pay for my scouting and my stuff and, uh. So, can I just have my check so I can go home?’”*

u/toxic9813 Upper 1 -> Lower 48 1d ago

this shit was SO WILD to see someone say with a straight face. Just.... yeah, genocide. Extinguish them.

In plain English, no rhetoric.

2

u/Level_32_Mage 1d ago

Kicked out?

2

u/TheOGSin 1d ago

this guy in the red hoodie started screaming at trump protesting the iran war then was kicked out from the rally

2

u/Level_32_Mage 1d ago

Based on your comment and the picture above, I now have changed my impressions on this man from being a weirdo staring down the camera thinking, "Are you f***ing filming me?!" to one of "Do you hear the wild shit coming out of this lady's mouth?!"

How fun!

5

u/phijef 1d ago

My dad, RIP, always thought the "end times" were going happen any day now. I do say that the fatalism affected his mindset and that affected of all of us. He was so sure it would happen in his lifetime. He died surprised we were all going to carry on without him. Christian fundamentalism is a disease.

15

u/AKchaos49 Kushtaka! Kushtaka! KushtakAAHHHHH!!!!! 2d ago

Sharia Law stole her teeth!

19

u/Mopar907AK 2d ago

I liked that not a single one of them could name anything good Trump has done.

10

u/DeltaShadowSquat 2d ago

Lie! They did. ‘Everything’. I mean so many good things it’s hard to name one. I mean even just the list of 1250 great things is too overwhelming to comprehend but 1250 times your idea of 0 good things. (And before you say it, yes 1250 x 0 is 1250 and I know because I heard it on Fox News not from some hateful violent math teacher).

3

u/Akchika 1d ago

Definite signs of a cult!

1

u/AKchaos49 Kushtaka! Kushtaka! KushtakAAHHHHH!!!!! 2d ago

right?

0

u/Poker-Junk 1d ago

I’d guess that they left voluntarily

8

u/AKchaos49 Kushtaka! Kushtaka! KushtakAAHHHHH!!!!! 2d ago

It was the "Simolians", she even said so!

14

u/AKTamster907 1d ago

Please know that there ARE smart people in Alaska who are trying to turn this state blue (or at least more purple)! These are the bottom feeders of the state and probably most live in Wasilla, the armpit of the state. Full of meth heads- some of which are probably in the video spewing nonsense.
I love how several people said trump did so many good things, but CANNOT NAME ONE when asked for an example. 🤦🏼‍♀️

11

u/ChugHuns 2d ago

Bro is dressed for the depths of winter lol

11

u/Star_Boxer72 2d ago

Two minutes in and I want to punch that old white "Christian" man...

That lady he keeps going back to was like Dooneese from SNL with her little stiff hands and hair.

8

u/WorstDMImaginable 2d ago

This must be Wasilla. This is like the average Wasillaman mentality

2

u/Mopar907AK 2d ago

Yeah it was Wasilla.

7

u/ftl-ak 2d ago

Makes me sad and so sick. We need to come together as a nation to help everyone not just one select person or people.

6

u/xo907 Kenai Peninsula 2d ago

Some of the crap these people are saying got me like..

https://giphy.com/gifs/D8qJlXpO3MVccXZ9mA

7

u/Mopar907AK 2d ago

Lol, Im watching that dumpster fire right now! The people he is interviewing are bat shit CRAZY. This is a huge embarrassment for all of Alaska. I tip my hat to him for keeping a straight face and not going off of some of those people.

5

u/Hungry_Belt_8487 2d ago

Hahaha . This is great to watch

5

u/CraigLake 1d ago

I know folks going to trump rallies aren’t the brightest bulbs but this is like watching a horror movie. These folks vote!

Just more Valley trash. Ben Stevens was ahead of the times.

2

u/Poker-Junk 1d ago

I live here and wish you were wrong.

1

u/TheRealBlancoGringo 1d ago

I don’t like that Palmer is grouped in with Wasilla when you say this. There’s a huge difference between the two.

1

u/cawvak 8h ago

You may have a point.

3

u/the_bifle 2d ago

Junkpiles .

4

u/Background-Log8551 1d ago

ITS A CULT. PERIOD.

2

u/AKchaos49 Kushtaka! Kushtaka! KushtakAAHHHHH!!!!! 2d ago

is that....is it?

1

u/toxic9813 Upper 1 -> Lower 48 1d ago

iron cross, yeah. it's not overtly "nazi" symbology, at least it wasn't at first. But it's been co-opted into a white supremacist symbol nowadays.

4

u/Poker-Junk 1d ago

Not all republicans are YT supremacists, but all YT supremacists are republicans.

0

u/MartianBrain 1d ago

Well, these days it’s probably safe to say all Republicans are white supremacists.

1

u/Poker-Junk 6h ago

I wish you were wrong

u/OverseerTycho 2d ago

when they emptied out the mental asylums, this is obviously where they ended up…

Ooooffff...

1

u/No-Relation5965 1d ago

What do you like about Donald Trump? Answer: his hair. Ugh

1

u/avidsocialist 1d ago

In four decades of living in Alaska, I got to see that electorate vote in some of worst politicians in the country. This video does not surprise me.

1

u/bottombracketak 19h ago

At 6:41 is a cameo from the hero who got thrown out. 💪🏼

1

u/TheOGSin 2d ago

Would love to meet these guys 💔

1

u/Poker-Junk 1d ago

Couldn’t have picked a more stereotypical maga than Cletus there in the thumbnail 😂

-21

u/headxXxnacho 2d ago

I think you could go to just about any political rally, interview enough people, and put together a compilation that makes the attendees look completely clueless.
That doesn’t excuse some of the ridiculous answers in this video, but let’s not pretend that selectively highlighting the least articulate people in a crowd is meaningful political analysis.
There’s plenty of room for legitimate criticism of Trump, his policies, and his supporters. But reducing political discourse to pointing and laughing at people we disagree with accomplishes absolutely nothing.
I’d love to see more actual discussion of policy in this subreddit and less of the constant political tribalism. Alaska has plenty of real issues worth debating.

16

u/Apostle-Dunghill 2d ago

As long as they keep cheering on their orange pedo King, there’s no chance of a convo happening, bro

11

u/FSCK_Fascists 2d ago

I think you could go to just about any political rally, interview enough people, and put together a compilation that makes the attendees look completely clueless.

thats the point- they don't have to pick and choose. its a gaggle of morons.
