Anyone else miss Al Cam tonight?
Set list said 7:30 start according to venue staff. Got in about 7:40 and fat white family were playing. My disappointment was immeasurable and my day was ruined. The Strokes were decent.

Yeah I walked in during Miami Memory and that was all I got! Was well pissed off. Couldn’t find set times anywhere and thought Alex would be playing after FWF. But I found the Strokes to be absolutely spellbinding, like an all time live music core memory.

FWF are definitely a bigger act than Alex Cameron, especially in the UK

They’re both fairly IYKYK acts, and being that Alex was the support for the rest of the tour I imagined “local act then main support then The Strokes”. I mean I was wrong but I don’t think it’s that absurd a thing to think.

That is fair. However Al Cam following up a Fat Whites set with this drumless set up would be a disaster IMO. I respect the vibe he's going for but it is very much "On First" suited with an Arena show

All very true! Once I’d seen what I saw of Alex then saw FWF (also got an entire pint of wine spilled on me by someone who immediately passed out and needed medical assistance) it made more sense.

Heard him for the first time opening for the killers in a huge arena…. I was the only one into it.
He was awesome in a local intimate setting
That happens for smaller artists in those big venues.

I also had a real struggle finding stage times, sorry you missed him! In case anyone is looking for stage times for tomorrow he started at 7. I'll be honest his set felt a bit flat given how big the arena is and how empty it is at that time... So hopefully that makes you feel a bit better. Was cool to hear him on such a bit stage for once but wasn't anything like one of his lower third shows if you made it to one of those. At least he'll comfortably hold the record for most bongo solos at the O2 by the end of the two nights. Agreed the strokes put on a good showing
