Technical Issue Echo show 8

Hi, I have the latest Echo Show 8. When I set an alarm, it plays the simple tone, which is the least effective choice; I have slept through it a few times. I chose the countertop tone, which resembles a standard alarm clock, yet the device still uses the simple tone. Have I missed a setting, or is there a fault with my Echo?

i had the same issue with my show 8, drove me nuts. turns out you've gotta set the alarm tone through the alexa app itself, not just on the device. the screen settings for alarm sounds are weirdly limited compared to what the app lets you choose

Singer, genres, radio station.

This might be only available to accounts set to US. I live in Australia, but my account preferences set to US.
